Created back in 1987 when we thought flying cars would be available in 2010. Thirtysomething was a television drama based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania about a group of baby boomers in their thirties. If the premise of this show seems boring — it’s because it was and it lasted only four seasons.
Anyway, in this dream sequence had by the star of the show Michael Steadman played by Ken Olin. Dude dreams about beating the Celtics with a dunk at the buzzer to send the 76ers to the NBA finals against the Lakers. All that sounds exciting until you see it play out on film and I’m convinced that it’s the worst dream dunk ever televised.
First off, this dream takes place on the Lakers home court which is just bad dream continuity. Then, dude puts himself as the last option on the court to win the game — in his own freakin’ dream. I’m sorry, but if it’s my dream I’ll looking off Kobe, M.J. and Magic to take the last shot even if I’m quadruple teamed by monsters. It’s my dream, so I’m the first option and the ball always goes in. Duh!
Then to top it all off, when my guy gets the ball. He throws down a dunk like he’s a 5 year-old girl with curly blonde ringlets in his hair from the Swiss Alps named Inga. No shattered glass, no rim hanging but plenty of awkward yuppie high fives afterwards. SMH…
Steady Steadman my Vincent Askew! Without out a doubt, this was the worst dream dunk sequence ever people!
