Raja Bell said “no thank you” to the LA Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves said “no thank you” to Al Jefferson. Both players now play for the Utah Jazz thank you very much. Bell via free agency and Jefferson via trade.
Bell agreed to a three-year deal worth around US$10 million to return to the team he played for back in 2003-2005. Snubbing offers made to him from the Lakers and Bulls in favor of playing for Jerry Sloan.
The Jazz received Jefferson from the T-Wolves for two future first-round draft picks and prospect Kosta Koufos. Being a power forward under Sloan means great stats and coupled with Deron Williams at the point, “Big Al” will be an all-star finally. It’s just a matter of “when” and not “if.”
