The opportunity to play with Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans will put Sacramento back on the map as a free agent destination because that kid is wicked good. But if I was the Maloofs, I’d be bragging about how former NBA legend Kevin Johnson is the Mayor of the city too.
The sales pitch would be simple, “play for us, we have Tyreke Evans, plus KJ is the mayor so you’ll never get a speeding or parking ticket”. Who the hell wouldn’t be down with that?
Anyway, KJ recently flexed his mayoral muscle to recognize Evans for winning the Rookie of the Year Award at City Hall which is pretty cool.
