Lately Andray Blatche has played the best basketball of his career as the focal point of the Wizards offense and — Washington has lost 12 games in a row. So in short, the Wizards still stink and for fun veteran coach Flip Saunders is letting Blatche joy ride with the offense for what’s left of the season, until he can find a better driver.
However, Blatche seems to think he’s now Garnett 2.0 with better parties and his “NBA Superstar Card” is being shipped via unicorn to his residence as we speak. Approximately, 7 minutes into the Wizards’ 95-86 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats, Saunders said Blatche didn’t want to listen when he tried to coach Blatche on playing better defense and then Blatche refused to play the rest of the game.
In the press conference following the game, Saunders went off on Blatche and it’s pretty safe to say Flip will now find a new focal point for the Wizards offense for the remaining games. So much for all that 16 games worth of Blatche praise.
