NBA commissioner David Stern is concerned about Allen Iverson and has reached out to the former NBA MVP. According to Gary Moore Iverson’s business manager, the Commissioner recently called Iverson to check up on him and his various issues.
“David was genuinely concerned for Allen,” Moore said. “He asked about his daughter and his wife. He said that if Allen needed him he knows how to get him.”
Stern also inquired about rumors of Iverson having a gambling and drinking problem with Moore. John Thompson who coached Iverson at Georgetown has also reached out to the 2010 All-Star.
“Allen’s personal life is at the top of his agenda right now and no thoughts about basketball will enter into his mind or thought process until he’s satisfied that his personal life is in order,” Moore said. “Basketball is not high on his list of priorities right now. But he hasn’t mentioned anything about retirement to me.”
Moore also said the that Iverson is currently living in Atlanta with his wife and children trying to reconcile his marriage with Tawanna Iverson and his daughter Messiah’s health has improved.
