Sure, the current state of the economy is still in shambles globally, but I really hate it when folks blame everything wrong in their life on the economy because they refuse to take responsibility to better their current plight. So naturally, when I read that Knicks GM Donnie Walsh was blaming his scouts hired by former GM Isiah Thomas for selecting Jordan Hill instead of Brandon Jennings, I threw up in my mouth a little bit.
The decision to pass on Jennings in June’s draft has backfired for the Knicks, and Walsh has not been shy about assigning blame to members of his scouting department, many of whom are holdovers from the Isiah Thomas administration.
“I couldn’t get a feel for his game,” Walsh said of Jennings last month. “One scout said he thought Brandon Jennings was very good. I said, ‘If he’s that good you should come in my door every five minutes and tell me.'”
C’mon man! Are you telling me as the H.K.I.C (Head Knickerbocker In Charge) you don’t have the final say in who’s wearing Knicks blue??? I don’t want to take anything away from Jordan Hill because he’s bigger than me, but selecting Brandon Jennings as an upgrade to Chris Duhon is a no brainer on any planet.
By the way, Isiah Thomas has been removed from the Knicks organization since April 18th, 2008 so I believe the statues of limitations for blaming Zeke for Knick problems has long past.
Ya screwed up Donnie, just own it.
