Steve Nash is so good that he can a get degree from a school he never attended.  On Friday,  the University of Victoria presented Nash with an honorary doctorate of laws degree in his hometown .
“Wow, what a privilege — and I’m not just talking about the outfit,” said Nash, a two-time winner of the NBA’s most valuable player award who plays point guard for the Phoenix Suns.
“UVic had a huge, lasting impact on my life. I spent so much time in that gym that I could have played a few careers for the Vikes. Even if we did have to break the law sometimes to get the opportunity — jimmying the locks on the old gym to get in late Friday nights to shoot around. We would come back after hours and let loose.”
If you’re keeping track, Nash has received Two NBA MVP trophies, The Order of Canada, a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame, an Honorary Degree from UVIC, and he’ll carry the torch for the 2010 Olympic games. So if he doesn’t win an NBA championship, I think he’ll survive with all of his other kick @ss accomplishments.
I’m just sayin’.
