Maccabi Wants Parker Back

Anthony Parker is a bigger national hero than Zohan in Israel and his former club Maccabi Tel Aviv wants him back. During his stretch with Maccabi, Parker won five national championships, five national cups, two Euroleague titles, one Suproleague title, and was voted two-time consecutive Euroleague MVP.

“Pini Gershon has asked Maccabi Tel Aviv’s management to do its utmost to bring back one of its biggest stars, Anthony Parker. The 1.98 meter small forward, who currently plays for the NBA’s Toronto Raptors and averages 10.95 points a game, has said in the past that he is very fond of the team, which he led to repeated success in Europe under the tutelage of Pini Gershon. Maccabi Tel Aviv officials have already opened talks with Parker over the possibility of his possible return to Tel Aviv. However, sources say the forward is unlikely to make a comeback at the Nokia Stadium because of his commitment to the Toronto Raptors franchise.”
