Miami Heat center Alonzo Mourning left Wednesday night’s game against the Atlanta Hawks in the first quarter after tearing the patella tendon in his right knee.
Mourning suffered the injury when his knee appeared to buckle while attempting to block a Mario West running layup.
The 37-year old was visibly upset, pounding the court in frustration. After refusing a stretcher, Mourning was helped to the sidelines by teammates.
