Jeff Fried, agent for Steve Francis, met with Isiah Thomas on Wednesday. They reportedly only discussed how his rehab was coming along and did not discuss a buyout.
“Right now he’s coming along,” Thomas said before last night’s game against the Wizards. “We hope to have him back soon.”
Thomas has consistently denied that the Knicks have discussed a buyout, and Fried confirmed that his conversations with Thomas have never involved terminating Francis’ employment.
“Those are rumors,” Thomas said. “All we can do is state what our situation is and look forward to having him back.”
