A source claims the Knicks and Steve Francis – exiled to Houston supposedly to rehab a tender knee – are discussing a contract buyout; what remains of this season’s $15 million salary and the next two, $16.44M and $17.8M.
This divorce, if it occurs, has been a long time coming for Francis and the Knicks. Steve is a virtual clone of the more tenured Stephon Marbury, and never really fit into the Knicks’ system. Rumor has it that Francis may even be headed to Philadelphia.
