Ron Artest To Drop New Mixtape

Hooped Up | October 2, 2008

The King Of Queens hooked up with DJ Drama for a new mixtape with some of the acts he has signed to his label Tru Warier.  If given the choice I’ll listen to Ron-Ron  album over a Shaq album any day…just don’t ask me to make the choice or present me with either album.

Lil’ Romeo Loves Bicycles And Chick Flicks

Hooped Up | October 1, 2008

Lil’ Romeo, son of former Charlotte Hornets and entertainment mogul Percy Miller currently on scholarship at USC, sat down with People magazine to discuss school, bikes and yes–his love of chick flicks.

As a freshman, Lil’ Romeo has already had three “expensive bikes” stolen in just five weeks, while staying on campus and is now only buying “ little $5 bikes that hopefully no one will want.”.  No more vintage $10 dollar bikes for him anymore…Lil’ Romeo has learned his lesson.

Other life lessons Lil’ Romeo shared, is to not “bring anything expensive to the dorms,” and he now  just  “sleeps with his earrings on.” No more antique bikes, or putting his blink in his No Limit tank shaped jewelery box at night? He must be going crazy!

So to protect his favorite romantic comedies like Made of Honor, 27 Dresses and The Notebook he must have hired a professional security team.

Way to not provide opposing teams trash talk material until senior year Lil’ Romeo. Awesome!

DeShawn Stevenson: The Usher Impersonator

Hooped Up | September 16, 2008

Delivered to your digital doorstep is DeShawn Stevenson aka the Usher impersonator. He can’t sing so he doesn’t which should be applauded and unlike every Usher performance the shirt actually stays on, which should also be applauded.

Channeling his inner Ashlee Simpson,  Stevenson delivers a lip syncing YouTube jem, from one of the studios probably located at the lebronjames750 world headquarters.

Enjoy!

Jay-Z Finally Speaks On Stevenson Dis Track

Hooped Up | September 15, 2008

Jay-Z  sat down with VIBE magazine to discussed his dis/motivational track “Blow The Whistle” about the on court feud between LeBron James and DeShawn Stevenson that sparked when the Cavaliers and Wizards met in the playoffs this year. Stevenson claimed to the media that LeBron James is overrated, prompting James to say that he wouldn’t return the insult, as that would be “almost like Jay-Z  responding to a negative comment made by Soulja Boy.”

It was at this point Jay-Z responded on behalf of LeBron James about the overrated comment made by Deshawn Stevenson with the “Blow The Whistle” track. Soulja boy then got involved, but that story is like a tale of the man that brought a pebble to a machine gun fight. Here’s what Jay-Z had to say about the whole thing.

“I had no intention to talk about the DeShawn Stevenson thing,” Jay-Z said in an interview with Vibe. “I seen him beatin’ the [expletive] out of LeBron, and he really couldn’t do nothing. I really wanted to inspire [LeBron]. I sent him the ["Blow The Whistle (freestyle)"]. The song wasn’t to be released.”

“I sent him the song to get him amped up. I do [expletive] like that. I hit him on the BlackBerry all the way through the playoffs. There’s a big trail of e-mails that we have where I’m almost like a coach on the sidelines for him ’cause…that’s my little brother! I’m giving him advice, even outside of ‘Take the ball to the elbow and shoot.’ The psychology of what’s going on: That’s my role in his life.”

Is Starbury’s Cousin Just A Hater?

Hooped Up | September 5, 2008

Stephon Marbury’s cousin, Jamel Thomas rips Starbury in his autobiography.

“Stephon Marbury has carried the stigma of being a selfish player for the majority of his 12-year NBA career. Now, his older cousin is saying Marbury is even more self-centered off the court and is dishing details on the Knicks point guard in his autobiography, “The Beautiful Struggle,” the Daily News has learned. The book, due out in late September from Xlibris Publishing, has former NBA pro and current overseas player Jamel Thomas alleging that Marbury ruined a potential deal for him with the Minnesota Timberwolves. In it, Thomas includes a conversation that he allegedly had with Kevin Garnett, in which Garnett tells him how Marbury’s presence on the team spoiled his cousin’s chances of signing with Minnesota.”

New York Daily News

“The Beautiful Struggle” was the title of a good Talib Kweli album. Now “The Beautiful Struggle” is a belly-aching autobiography of Stephon Marbury’s cousin laced with haterade.

Call me crazy but, blaming others for not making it in the league just might be the reason why you never made.

For the rest of the Beijing Olympics, Team USA can hand out an @ss whooping with a soundtrack.  Thanks to Just Blaze & Chase Flow.  If your going to get blown out by a million, might as well have some music to listen to while you wait for the final whistle to blow.

Right?
