If you’re placing a heavy bet with a bookie who has no access to Instagram that Carmelo Anthony will beat out Kevin Durant for the scoring title. Put it all on Melo cause earlier today via his @sniperjones35 account, KD announced he will sit out tonight’s game.
“SITTING OUT TONIGHT’S GAME, if you disappointed I didn’t try to go for the scoring title, oh well!!”
Melo will also rest tonight which puts his season average at 28.7 points per game, while Durant’s season ending average sits at 28.7 points per contest. Congrats Melo!

These days Carmelo Anthony is on a takeover rampage. On his path of destruction, Anthony has leapfrogged Kevin Durant for the scoring lead and overtook LeBron James on the NBA’s top-selling jerseys list. Making him the first Knicks player to lead jersey sales since it was first tracked in the 2001-02 season. Melo climbed three spots from last year to unseat LeBron James who slipped to No. 2 on the list. Rounding out the rest of the top 5 were Kevin Durant (No.3), Kobe Bryant (No.4) and Derrick Rose (No.5). Check out the Top 15 Most Popular NBA Jerseys below.
Knicks all-star forward Carmelo Anthony and one of my favorite photographers Terry Richardson recently hooked up to do a photo shoot for Wall Street Journal magazine. Melo also did an interview for WSJ and graced their cover as seen above. In the article titled “Melo Time”, Anthony talks about returning to New York City, his wife Lala Vasquez, his focus to bring a NBA championship title back to New York and his vision board.
“This was on my vision board. To run out there and be hitting game winners, getting the fans riled up. When they’re stomping on the floor yelling ‘New York Knicks’—that’s a great feeling.”
As you would expect, the photos from Terry Richardson are great! Check a few of them out below.
