While you were at home watching the Mayweather-Marquez fight on your illegal cable feed. Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, was in Las Vegas and he bumped into free agent Antoine Walker and put his Twitter account to good use. Updating us all on Walker being in an NBA camp, as the season approaches.

“Just bumped into Antoine Walker at the MGM, says he is talking to four teams and plans on being in a camp on a non-guaranteed deal next week”

Antoine Walker hurt his chances of playing again this year in the league but, he helped his chances of joining the TNT crew. What — Too soon???

“Former NBA player Antoine Walker was charged with suspicion of drunk driving in Miami Beach early Monday morning, further hurting his chances of playing again this season.

Walker was driving a black Mercedes without the lights on when he was pulled over at 5:39 a.m., according to the arrest report. Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol and wrote in the report that Walker had a sleepy look on his face. He refused a breathalyzer test.”

The Grizzlies and Antoine Walker are definitely not crazy about each other and soon that relationship will come to an end according to the Commercial Appeal . However, the Grizzlies do like Darius Miles who had a good enough workout for the Memphis Grizzlies for them to sign him to a contract last Saturday. 

Miles is currently serving a 10-game suspension for violating the NBA’s drug policy but is on the Grizzlies active roster.

“Hopefully with this buyout, the opportunity is going to be there for me,” Walker said when asked by Miami media. “I’m hoping to get a buyout. Then maybe I can go and talk to a few teams and hopefully move on to a better situation very soon.”

Antoine Walker’s agent is working to get him out of Minnesota and onto a playoff team, but that remains a substantial `if’ to happen by a Saturday deadline. “We’re trying to find a solution that makes sense,” agent Mark Bartelstein said Monday. “We’re trying to find something, if it ever comes together. There’s a lot at stake, a lot involved. But nothing’s been decided at this point.”

Heat coach Pat Riley called out Antoine Walker on his conditioning Wednesday and said the forward might not approach the shape the team desires until January.

“It’s beyond irritating,” Riley said before his team faced Atlanta in an exhibition at AmericanAirlines Arena. “I’m beyond being irritated. I was irritated the first year when I signed him. I was really irritated last year. I’m beyond irritated. I don’t have time to be irritated.”

Riley rarely discusses players’ conditioning status, but said Walker reported to camp earlier this month at 262 pounds and 15 percent body fat. The 6-foot-9 veteran is listed by the team in its media guide at 245 pounds.
