Top 5: Basketball Artists In The Business

Hooped Up | July 1, 2009

For me when somebody says the beautiful game, I think of basketball first. It’s a game of constant motion and unique characters from every part of the world, and ten different things are going on all at once for 24 seconds at a time until the final buzzer sounds. The people that capture these moments with a camera, paint brush or pencil to me are  just as important as the refs, coaches and fans that give a NBA game life.

For me their are five artist that capture the NBA game and players exceptionally well and are the best basketball artist in the business.

Find out who and see some of their amazing work after the jump.

Born Ready Is College Ready

Hooped Up |

You might not now the name yet, but former high school star Lance Stephenson aka “Born Ready” is going to be a Bearcat before he makes his way to the NBA.

“The former Lincoln basketball star whose future has been complicated by a sexual harassment case and questions about his amateur status, has ended months of speculation by finally deciding on a college. A family source said Tuesday that Stephenson intends to suit up for the University of Cincinnati, the school he and his family visited over the weekend.

“Unless something out of their control happens, he’s going to Cincinnati,” the source said. Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin, who is no stranger to the Lincoln program, said Stephenson signed a financial aid agreement with the Bearcats and expects Stephenson to attend summer school.”

See why NBA scouts are excited after the jump.

Despite never making an NBA roster after a successful college career, Okulaja has been burned things up in the euroleague and has represented Germany multiple times in international player earning himself the nickname “The Warrior” for his style of play.

Press Hop Featuring Allen Iverson

Hooped Up | June 29, 2009

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

The only thing better than watching the original Allen Iverson practice rant, is the Allen Iverson practice rant talkin’ bout not a game, not a game, not a game but practice to a funky beat. Jim Mora, Dennis Green, Mike Gundy,Joe Namath and Terrell Owens are also in this video losing it like an angry spider monkey jacked up on Mountain Dew.

SportsFuzion Are The Nike Fun Police

Hooped Up | June 25, 2009

SportsFuzion is really harshing my mellow today with word that they’ re suing everybody I’ve heard of and like more than them.

“A small sports-licensing company is suing Nike Inc. and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Inc., alleging fraud and breach of contract, over a proposed Nike line of Michael Jordan sportswear.

SportsFuzion Inc., of Westwood, Mass., claims Nike and the Hall of Fame’s plans for a line of “Air Jordan Hall of Fame” sportswear circumvent a 2006 contract that it said gave SportsFuzion exclusive sportswear licensing rights to the Hall of Fame’s trademarks and logos. Continue »
