Tyreke Evans Sustains Concussion

Hooped Up | March 20, 2010

Sacramento is in no danger of making the playoffs, but they sure would like Rookie of the Year front-runner Tyreke Evans back to play out the remainder if the season.

Evans left in the fourth quarter of the Bucks vs Kings game that went to double-overtime, after he was elbowed in the mouth and had to be taken to the locker room for x-rays, where he was diagnosed with a concussion.

Evans also sustained a chipped tooth and lacerated gums. Doctors are still checking to see if he might have a broken jaw. Read More »

Evans Hits The Now Easy Over The Glass Shot

If a week goes by without you seeing a halfcourt shot, a LeBron James chase down block or a shot that finds the bottom of the net from behind the glass — you are probably dead. Thank Tyreke Evans for making you realize that you’re indeed amongst the living.

Hooped Up | March 2, 2010

Sacramento Kings forward Andres Nocioni has been suspended without pay for two games after pleading no contest to drunken driving, according to the NBA.

Nocioni’s suspension begins tonight with the game between the Sacramento Kings and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Nocioni plead no contest to the DUI charge on Feb. 22.

Nocioni was arrested about 2 a.m. Nov. 5 when a police officer noticed his car weaving in downtown Sacramento, hours after the Kings had lost a home game to the Atlanta Hawks.

Kings Waive Larry Hughes

Hooped Up | February 23, 2010

Well, that was fast. Days after the Sacramento Kings acquired guard Larry Hughes from the New York Knickerbockers in a three-way trade that also involved the Houston Rockets.

Hughes was waived by Kings GM Geoff Petrie according to Adrian Wojnarkowski of Yahoo! Sports. From the beginning it was the addition of the salary of Hughes that was more important to the Kings ($13 million), that will now melt away from Sac Town’s books this summer like body fat after a P90X workout.

In 30 days Hughes will be free to join any team in the league that is interested in his services.

Tracy McGrady Traded To Kings

Hooped Up | February 18, 2010

Waking up this morning the last team I expected to win the Tracy McGrady sweepstakes was the Sacramento Kings, or any other team not named the Knicks for that matter. Well after some Chai tea and some more research, there it was.

Tracy McGrady shipped off to the Kings, for guards Kevin Martin and Sergio Rodriguez, center Hilton Armstrong and forward Kenny Thomas.

The Kings also reportedly will get hard as nails forward Carl Landry, and seldom-used forward Joey Dorsey. According to ESPN.com, the dust hasn’t settled on this deal yet and the Knicks will try to acquire T-Mac from his new team.

Lets see what happens before the 3PM EST trade deadline.

It was Chris Duhon takes terrible game winning shots / Jewish heritage night at Madison Square Gardens and unfortunately for the Knicks, Duhon took advantage of the occasion and so did Israeli born Omri Casspi with this dunk all over Danilo Gallinari.

This dunk was filled with so much ownage that if it was Italian heritage night, it would have reverted to Jewish heritage night immediately after this rim crusher. Oy vey!

The Kings Ended The Rockets Proper

Hooped Up | November 14, 2009

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

The Sacramento Kings already had the game in the bag against the Rockets heading into the home stretch, but Beno Udrih, Tyreke Evans and Jason Thompson decided to end things proper.

If you’re an investor, Kings basketball is now a buy and hold stock.

Served: The Shot Clock Gets Got By Jason Thompson

Hooped Up | November 9, 2009

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

Until this play happen, Derek Fisher was the zenith of 0.4 on the shot clock bucket technology. Now like the Terminator 2, Jason Thompson has taken that same technology and upgraded it with a dunk. Sarah and John Connor were absolutely thrilled about it, the T-1000 — not so much.
