The Timberwolves are pretty hot in all areas these days. Everybody on their team named Kevin is playing like an all-star, Ricky is back in form, Minny pro basketball has hope and the Target Center (where most of their magic takes place) recently played host to a charity event hosted by Dave Chappelle to support one of their efforts.
“I’d want to take credit for this charity event Chappelle said; but all I did was lend my participation. There are a lot of people who worked real hard to make this thing happen and the people that came were the ones who were driving it and I heard they raised over $30,000”.
As part of the event, fans had a chance to shoot hoops with Chappelle on the Timberwolves home court and share some pancakes with him afterwards. Proceeds from the event went to the Timberwolves’ Fast Break Foundation that supports programs for kids and teenagers in Minnesota. And yes, of course they aired his famous basketball sketch of him as Prince playing Charlie Murphy. Too perfect!
