Yup, even more cool news from China. Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard are set to make their acting debut in Shanghai which is very, very, very, very, very West of Hollywood. The movie they will appear in is called “Amazing” directed by Kennedy Center Honors winner Hu Xuehua so no Rush Hour 5 jokes please.

The film will be a joint production effort between the league and Xuehua, making the feature flick the first NBA themed motion picture outside of North America. As it turns out, selling your game to a market of a billion people is a good thing. Yes, that’s savvy marketing indeed!

The flick will be shot in New York, Beijing ,Shanghai and is scheduled to open next summer. Just around the same time the Knicks will send Isiah Thomas to get Carmelo Anthony to sign with New York if he isn’t traded there this summer.

Cool, now Miami Heat fans can give LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh the finger like bitter fans of all the other 29 teams in the league have been doing since the decision, but in a good way. Get one at the Miami Heat store here.

The Charlotte Bobcats thought the answer to their depth problems at center was to waive Erick Dampier(notes) to clear salary-cap space and then re-sign him for less money.

When Dampier wouldn’t agree to a new contract, the Bobcats looked at the next-best option. It just so happened to be Kwame Brown, considered Bobcats owner Michael Jordan’s worst move as an executive.

Jordan signed off anyway, and now they’re reunited—nine years after Jordan’s much-criticized decision to draft Brown No. 1 overall when he was running the Washington Wizards.

The Showdown in Chinatown charity soccer event in New York City hosted by Steve Nash on behalf of his charities was even fun off the soccer pitch. The guys invited to take part in the annual charity event were also luck to play an advanced demo of EA Sports FIFA 11, months before the general public get a kick at it. Not a bad deal at all…
