Canadian hockey player Craig MacTavish played 19 NHL seasons with the Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers and St. Louis Blues. All while never wearing a helmet and was in fact the last player in NHL history to ever play a game without one.
Somehow, dude rarely ever had even a scratch on his face after a game.
Steve Nash on the other hand who is entering his 14th NBA season, might want to become the first basketball player to take up wearing a hockey helmet and visor to stop people from messing with his grill that seems to be a magnet for havoc.
Without a doubt, when Nash is done his amazing career. We’ll all remember his skill, dedication and his face that’s taken a beatin’ over the years that has proven his toughness.
So here’s a look back at the Top 5: Moments of Steve Nash’s face, thus far.
5. The Karl Malone Elbow
The Mailman and his EMD’s (Elbows of Mass Destruction) can only chip Steve Nash’s sense of humor.
4. Zut Alors! Stop The Bleeding!
Steve Nash and Tony Parker collide and Nash just can’t stop bleeding or scoring. Years later, the Spurs would disrespected his mug one more time after that.
3. Steve Nash Part-Time Vampire
An errant Earl Watson elbow helps Steve Nash get his Edward from Twilight on and earns Nash some tough guy cred with hockey’s Don Cherry. Pretty bloody, eh?
2. One Eyed Nash
Tim Duncan helps us realize how good Steve Nash can play with just one eye, big mistake Timmy! As it turns out, what Nash was able to do with just one eye is even hard without defenders and the legend of Nash’s toughness rises
1. MVP Do-It-Yourself Nose Repair
Earlier in this game, Amare Stoudemire got his glasses pushed into his face and it opened up a gash right between his eyes. After seeing the Suns trainer, STAT was back on the floor ready for action.
After Derek Fisher broke Steve Nash’s nose, instead of seeing a trainer Nash decided to fix his nose by himself to the dismay of Grant Hill and everybody else. Hopefully, Nash will never have to top that for number one on this list.
