Miami Re-Signs Shavlik Randolph

The Miami Heat re-signed forward Shavlik Randolph for the balance of the season Tuesday.

Randolph was added as insurance because of the recent knee injury that has sidelined center Jermaine O’Neal. O’Neal said Tuesday he expects to return for Wednesday night’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Randolph, a 6-foot-10 forward out of Duke, appeared in two games, with two points, seven rebounds and one blocked shot in 23 minutes for the Heat earlier this season.

In order to open a roster spot for Randolph, the Heat released forward Alade Aminu.
