Real Madrid Wants Rudy Fernandez

Hooped Up | February 24, 2010

Real Madrid likes the idea of Rudy Fernandez returning to Spain and Fernandez kinda likes the idea too according to Marca.com. Currently the Spanish international player is suffering from a drop in playing time, health and stats this year with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Right now I don’t rule out anything because I just want to play. I don’t mind where,” said Fernandez, whose name has already been linked to Real Madrid.”Last year we had a different team and at least I had Sergio, who understood my game. I have noticed a change this year. I don’t get the ball as much and the system is different.”

Honestly, if Rudy Fernandez thinks he’s going to get any more playing time in front of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Raúl, Karim Benzema he’s kidding himself. Plus Rubén Gago will never give up his number.

Seriously, what is he thinking???

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

To help millions of people already dying from AIDS in Africa live dramatically longer and fuller lives, you can make a difference by lacing up with (NIKE)RED shoe laces. It’s that easy.

Soccer fan Kobe Bryant along with soccer stars Didier Drogba, Andrei Arshavin, Clint Dempsey, Denilson, Marco Materazzi, Javier Mascherano, Fabio Cannavaro, and tennis star Maria Sharapova want to encourage fans globally to “Lace Up Save Lives.”

Steve Nash Sinks A Free Kick

Hooped Up | October 19, 2009

At this moment, I’m not too sure if attempting to kick a ball in for a free throw is illegal, but if it isn’t and Steve Nash only  attempted to kick in all of his free throws for an entire season. I bet he could have a slightly better free throw / kick percentage than a few of the big men in the league — okay, by a few big men I mean Shaq.

Free THROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

Didier Drogba Is Ballin’, Kinda

Hooped Up | September 22, 2009

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is on of the best footballers in the world.  But for some reason, the NBA has him playing basketball in an ad for “Take To The Courts London” on October 3rd and 4th in Jolly Ole.

Now, I’m not saying that Drogba can’t play basketball. I’m just saying that he plays basketball like a soccer player.

Take from that what you will.

Charity: Steve Nash And Football-For-Good

Hooped Up | June 17, 2009

Steve Nash is a good dude and like Rod Tidwell said to Jerry McGuire “I dig that about him”. He’s also a charitable and funny dude too and in this commercial for his charity Football-For-Good, both of those sides of Nash are in full motion and it has made my day to find this hilarious video for a good cause.

BTW, as far as silent film actors go Steve Nash makes Charlie Chaplin look like Dane Cook plus Chaplin couldn’t go left like Nash either.

If you want to see some of these soccer stars play for free in NYC all expenses paid for on June 24th. With a small donation you could be on your way to the Showdown in Chinatown too.

Steve Nash will tell you how after the jump.

Kobe Meets Soccer Superstar Marta

Hooped Up | March 6, 2009

If you don’t watch soccer, you’ve probably never heard of Marta Vieira da Silva. Well, the Brazilian striker is regarded as one of the best soccer players in the world and is now the newest member of the LA Sol of the WPS. She also has a huge fan base worldwide that includes the Lakers Kobe Bryant, who flew in by helicopter to welcomed her to Los Angeles.

Kobe even stuck around after her press conference, to play some footy with the LA Sol. Take note of the penalty kicking skills Shaq.

Video of Kobe Bryant and his soccer skills, after the jump.

Becks And KG “The Hole-in-One”

Hooped Up | February 27, 2009

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

Kevin Garnett and David Beckham decided to have a friendly competition at the mystery Adidas party house and much like Garnett playing Poker against, Young Jeezy. The result was epic failure for KG.

The way this series is going for Garnett, I won’t be surprised if the next challenge he takes on is a game of S-K-A-T-E with Adidas teammate Mark Gonzales at Embarcadero.
