Inspired or maybe obsessed with the number 33. Michael Cho from Toronto, On sketches legends Patrick Ewing, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Larry Bird and Scottie Pippen. All famous Hall of Fame players that wore the #33.
In the 90′s it was a right of passage to dunk on Patrick Ewing for your career highlights package to be complete. However some dunks on Ewing were more memorable than others, like this tomahawk slam Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen had on Ewing during one of the bitter wars between the Bulls and Knicks. Everything about this jam is still awesome all these years later.
Michael & Scottie & Toni & Steve & The Worm. On their own those names mean nothing. Together they represent the last real dynasty the league has ever known. Straight from the UNDRCRWN, this “Chi Town Dynasty” tee is currently on pre-sale due to high demand and has an expected ship date of October 5, 2011.
Another sweet portrait of a Chicago athlete created by Tony Santiago. This time Bulls great and hall of fame member Scottie Pippen gets some creative shine. It’s always a good day when you get some high quality Scottie Pippen art I always say.
See his Derrick Rose piece, here.
Things have been looking up for Scottie Pippen over the last year. Last July the Chicago Bulls hired him as an ambassador to their team, he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame and earlier this month the Bulls unveiled a bronze bust of Pippen in his No. 33 jersey during a ceremony at halftime of the Boston Celtics visit to the United Center.
If that wasn’t enough, hip-hop artist Curren$y dropped a phat track titled “Scottie Pippen” featuring Freddie Gibbs that’s been doing work on the Internets. Yup, it’s been quit the year for the Pipp-meister.
Peep the track after the jump.
Scottie Pippen now has a sculpture at the United Center, just like Mike.
The Bulls unveiled the bronze bust showing him in his No. 33 jersey during a ceremony at halftime of Thursday’s game against the Boston Celtics at the United Center.
It was a fitting honour for the Hall of Famer, who along with Michael Jordan led the Bulls to six NBA championships in the 1990s.
Pippen told the crowd he was “truly honoured” and thanked the organization and fans, saying he appreciated “the love, the drive” they gave him.The statue, which will be displayed in the arena concourse, was made by the same artist who sculpted Jordan’s outside the United Center. Pippen says this “truly ranks at the top” of all the honours he’s received.
OMG! 14-year old girls everywhere with Twitter accounts have spoken, and Hall of Fame newbie Scottie Pippen should probably just hand over his six championship rings and headbands to Justin Bieber. The MVP — of the world. Well probably!
