Ainge Won’t Trade Rasheed Wallace

Hooped Up | February 13, 2010

Despite trade rumors swirling around the Boston Celtics and in particular Rasheed Wallace, GM Danny Ainge feels there is no need to trade ‘Sheed.

“There is no truth to either one of those,’’ Ainge said. “I have had conversations with a lot of teams but those have never been discussed. There are a lot of things I would like to do, but I don’t feel a need to do something. I am always looking to upgrade the team, if possible.’’

Face it, the Celtics look wicked tired these days and they could benefit from some young legs being added to the second part of their NBA campaign. However, I really don’t think I would trade Rasheed Wallace or Ray Allen for all the Tea thrown into the Boston Harbour back on December 16, 1773.

Just because those guys are usually the difference in important games and you just can’t give that up right now if you’re the Celtics either.

Rasheed Wallace Fined, You Are Not Surprised

Hooped Up | January 20, 2010

Rasheed Wallace being fined by the NBA is about as surprising as “The Rock” making a bad movie. Seriously dude, we wanna see more peoples elbow into someones chest and less of you in terrible PG situations. So it’s no shocker that Sheed got choke slammed with a $35K fine for criticizing refs, after the Celtics took an L against the visiting Mavericks on Monday 99-90.

“[The officials] don’t like tough defense on [Dirk Nowitzki], so, of course, I get a whole lot of [expletive] calls,” Wallace said after Monday’s game in which foul trouble limited his minutes. “That’s how the story goes, I’m not worried about it. We’ll see them again.”

Yes Stu Jackson Sheed can certainly smell what your cooking, too bad to he likes it.

Rasheed Wallace Out One Week

Hooped Up | January 12, 2010

According to Doc Rivers, Celtics forward Rasheed Wallace will be joining Kevin Garnett in a suit on the sidelines for about a week due to a foot injury.

“Looks like a week, maybe,” said Rivers. “It’s day-to-day, but I would say maybe a week. Maybe less. I think it’s toe, foot. I’m not sure what it is. I don’t know exactly. I know it started hurting him last night after the game. In the locker room he was saying his foot was bothering him. And then this morning it got bigger I guess. But when he came to the game he thought he was going to play. He actually went out and and tried to warm up, and he came in and said, “Hey Coach, I can’t go.” And we did x-rays and all that, and they were negative, but they also showed that he probably needs a break.”

Sheed Warned To Keep Quiet

Hooped Up | December 31, 2009

Bad news for the NBA. Rasheed Wallace is getting the Tim Donaghy book. “I want to check it out and see what’s there,” Wallace said last night.

Wallace already has been fined once for criticizing referees this season ($30,000), and as reported in Tuesday’s Herald, he lucked out on another occasion when the league didn’t want to bring more attention to the claims of Donaghy, the former official convicted of gambling.

Celts GM Danny Aingepassed on word to Wallace from the NBA that he should watch his critical statements, but the forward won’t bow to the request.

“Either way they’re going to get me,” Wallace said. “If I don’t say nothing I’m going to get fined, and if I say something I’m going to get fined. So I might as well say something about what’s on my mind, what I want to say. They’re going to hit me up either way.

Sheed Fined $30,000 For Comments

Hooped Up | November 30, 2009

The Celtics forward, who knows as much about league-mandated fines as he does about technical fouls, learned after last night’s 92-85 victory against the Heat that he was fined $30,000 for his comments following Friday’s win against Toronto.

Here’s another thing Wallace knows a lot about: the appeals process. “I’m definitely taking this one to the appeals board,” he said. “I knew it was going to happen, but I don’t know why (it did). I didn’t talk about no refs. I’m going to get that one back for sure.”

Wallace was hit with the technical for protesting a call after he set a pick on Toronto’s Hedo Turkoglu. Afterward, he said, “I got a technical tonight for saying he’s a flopper.”

Sheed Takes A Strong Stance On Flopping

Hooped Up | November 28, 2009

Rasheed Wallace picked up his fifth technical of the season last night, and he says the refs were tricked by a flopping Hedo Turkoglu into giving it to him. But forget that, the quote he gives the media after the game about the incident is Sheed-tastic!

“They’ve got to know that he’s a [darn] flopper. That’s all Turkododo do,” Wallace said after the Celtics beat the Raptors 116-103. “Flopping shouldn’t get you nowhere. He acts like I shot him. ”That’s not basketball, man. That’s not defense. That’s garbage, what it is. I’m glad I don’t have too much of it left.”

“Let the Golden Child LeBron James do that, or one of the NBA Without Border kids do that, it’s all fine and dandy,” he said.

“This game is watered down, watered down with all that flopping. They’re setting rules on us to the point where you’re taunting if you dunk on somebody. Paul dunked it and then he didn’t say nothing, but it’s a tech.”

Like I said, Sheed-tastic!

Boston Celtics ‘09-10 Season Preview

Hooped Up | October 19, 2009

Another van glorious season of NBA basketball is about to begin and Hooped Up does a quick and dirty preview of all 30 clubs.

Rasheed Wallace believes that this years Celtics squad can win more than 72 games. While I’m a glass half full guy too, I think the big three playing at least 72 games together healthy is the real key to a championship season. Read More »

Sheed Believes The C’s Can Win 72

Hooped Up | October 12, 2009

Kevin Garnett thinks the ‘09-10 version of the Celtics, could be one of the greatest teams in NBA history with the addition of Rasheed Wallace. Sheed went a tad further and attached a number to that greatness, by saying “I think we can get that Bulls record.” Of course the “Bulls record” Sheed is referring to is the 72 win season the ‘96 championship Bulls squad had, with some guy named Michael Jordan.
