5 NBA Players Who Could Play In The NFL

Hooped Up | September 4, 2008

I am a huge NBA basketball fan but,  running a close second is definitely NFL football.  I can hear John Madden already with the “BOOM!”, “NFC, NFC” and Horse Trailer talk already. So with a new NFL season kicking off today, let’s get a look at who in the NBA could play in the NFL today and I mean for real…”BOOM!”

LeBron James
In high school LeBron James was a First-Team All-State wide receiver and was highly recruited by college scouts. With his mix of great hands, size and leaping ability James would be a defensive coordinators nightmare.  Just as big as the Linebackers in short yardage situations and bigger that your DB’s when you need to send it long.

King James would still be King James!

Scouting Report
Player: LeBron James
Height: 6′8″
Weight: 250 lbs
Projected Position: Tight End
NFL Comparision: Antonio Gates

The Knicks Comedy Show

Hooped Up | February 20, 2008

I bet this was staged to rush a trade before the deadline. But seriously, your on the road, winning and your fighting with your team mates in the time out? The Knicks just need to accept that the team is Dysfunctional and retool for next year. This does not happen on a bench where players respected the coach. Something has got to change now if this train wreck is to be fixed. The least the Knicks could do is kick Isaiah upstairs, and let one of the assistants take over for a change of pace.

Knicks Win Two Straight

Hooped Up | January 16, 2008

All this winning at Madison Square Garden is beginning to feel a little monotonous. The Knicks followed their victory two nights earlier by beating the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night, 105-93. For those keeping count, that is two wins in two games.

So maybe the Knicks have struggled mightily this season. But it has not felt that way recently. They have won three of their past five games, after winning three games in all of December.

“Is it safe to celebrate?” a security guard stationed near the Knicks’ locker room said.

Hold the Champagne until Wednesday night, when the Knicks (11-26) go for a season-high three-game winning streak against the Nets in New Jersey.

Nate Not So Great

Hooped Up |

Doesn’t sound like the NBA has reached out yet to have Nate Robinson back in the Slam Dunk contest at all-star weekend next month. The league usually tries to bring in new faces every so often, but you can’t deny N8s crowd appeal. What you can deny him is 15 chances to complete a dunk.

The New York Saga Continues

Hooped Up | December 28, 2007

Before the game, Zach Randolph said he was “shocked” when Isiah Thomas informed him during the morning stretch that he wouldn’t be starting. Asked if he would try to play his way back in, Randolph uttered an expletive and said, “I ain’t played my way out of it.” Even so, Randolph wound up only one rebound shy of his usual double-double, recording 22 points and nine rebounds in 33:07. Crawford had 29 points and eight assists, Lee 11 points and 14 rebounds, and Robinson 16 points - but no assists - in 25:51. Richardson was 3-for-12 from the field, including three air balls, for eight points in 36:29.

KG To NY?

Hooped Up | January 18, 2007

I really hope this one is true, and lets face it. If KG was traded the only team that could handle his salary and field a decent cast to surround him would be the Knicks. Stop wasting time and pull the trigger on this Minnesota!

Marc Berman of the New York Post reports that there is an unsubstantiated internet rumor centering around a trade that would send Kevin Garnett to the Knicks in exchange for a package of Channing Frye, Nate Robinson, Jamal Crawford and a 2008 first-round pick.

A league official said the Knicks have been quiet on the trade front recently.

The first time I shot the hook, I was in fourth grade, and I was about five feet eight inches tall.
I put the ball up and felt totally at ease with the shot. I was completely confident it would go in.
I’ve been shooting it ever since.
