Wizards Send T-Wolves The 5th Pick

Hooped Up | June 24, 2009

The Timberwolves agreed to trade guards Randy Foye and Mike Miller to the Washington Wizards for the fifth overall draft pick and three players, leaving Minnesota with four first-round choices and plenty of ammunition to do even more wheeling and dealing. Two NBA officials with knowledge of the deal confirmed that the trade had been agreed upon Tuesday night. They spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been completed.

The deal would give Minnesota the fifth and sixth overall selections in Thursday’s NBA draft, as well as forwards Etan Thomas, Darius Songaila and Oleksiy Pecherov.

David West Uses Judo Chop Defence

Hooped Up | February 9, 2009

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

All-Star David West was given a one game suspension by the NBA today, for the Judo chop defence he used on Mike Miller Sunday. Miller should thank his lucky stars that a Vulcan death grip can be tricky on the fly, and a Judo chop is all West could manage at the time.

This play was West of good sportsman ship.

Sorry, my wrist couldn’t stop my fingers from writing that last line.

The Nets Are Interested In Mike Miller

Hooped Up | January 22, 2009

The Nets could use a boost at small forward, and they belive that sharp shooter Mike Miller could be that boost.

“The Nets have begun shopping around for an upgrade at small forward, but Larry Hughes — a name they’ve discussed lately — isn’t someone they consider a particularly good option. He’s more like a last resort. The man the Nets have set their sights on (since the start of the week, anyway) is Mike Miller, who has been a washout since arriving in Minneapolis, according to an NBA general manager familiar with the discussions. One snag, perhaps two: The Timberwolves are not in any rush to move the 28-year-old wing, even though Miller averages fewer than eight shots in 30 minutes per game, so they’re playing hardball.”

Wolves Unveil New Uniforms

Hooped Up | August 19, 2008

I don’t know yet if I’m  hot or cool on the new 20th anniversary Timberwolves uni’s that leaked long before these official photos came out over at the TWolves Blog and Ball Don’t Lie.  What I am hot on, are those kicks Mike Miller is wearing.

Golly, those are hot Pete!

Does anybody know what they are called?

Miller To The Mavs?

Hooped Up | February 9, 2008

Guard/forward Mike Miller is reportedly being shopped as part of the Grizzlies’ clearance sale. As is the case with most good players on the trade market, the Mavs have been mentioned as a possible destination for Miller. Miller says the right things about just focusing on playing, giving the Grizzlies his all and trying not to get caught up in trade talk. But a huge smile breaks out on his face when asked what he’d think about coming to the Mavs.
