Orlando Magic guard Mickael Pietrus has been in Kobe Bryant’s shoes this season. But now that he’ll have to help defend the Lakers star in the NBA Finals, he’s getting out.

Pietrus, a shooting guard who also helped defend LeBron James in the Eastern Conference finals, has worn a pair of basketball sneakers endorsed by Bryant during games this season, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

But now that the Magic are facing the Lakers in the NBA Finals, which start Thursday (ABC, 8:30 p.m. ET), Pietrus is ditching his Kobe kicks for something a little more old school, according to the report.

Kevin Garnett and David Beckham decided to have a friendly competition at the mystery Adidas party house and much like Garnett playing Poker against, Young Jeezy. The result was epic failure for KG.

The way this series is going for Garnett, I won’t be surprised if the next challenge he takes on is a game of S-K-A-T-E with Adidas teammate Mark Gonzales at Embarcadero.

The latest Air Jordan commercial hit the Interweb a few days ago, and sure it has Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, Joe Johnson and Richard Hamilton. But still, in my opinion Nike missed something and the talk online about it so far has been all over the place.

I feel like LeBron James has a new shoe out every week, but I guess that’s what happens when you’re the King. 

The “latest” LeBron release is the Zoom LeBron VI – All-Star, that will match the blue jerseys James and the rest of the eastern all-stars will wear this weekend. Since the eastern conference players will look like Smurfs with all that blue, I think LeBron James’ Smurf name should be “Dunky Smurf”.

Sure it isn’t that creative, but neither was naming the oldest Smurf “Papa Smurf” or the only girl Smurf “Smurfette“.

Lil’ Penny must be Pinocchio rich, to be courtside with Rocsi of 106 and Park at MSG in these harsh economic times! But apparently his NYC visit wasn’t all pleasure, as the Nike Air Penny 1/2 Cent will hit the streets March. And Lil’ Penny was doing a lil’ pre-promo for the Air Penny series and Air Foamposite sneaker mash up.

Notice how everybody around Rosci thinks nothing of a puppet sitting next to her at a basketball game. Like it happens all the time. Man, I love New York City!

Yesterday, I posted a first look video of the Jordan XXIV with Jordan Brand designer Jason Mayden and today I stumbled upon the new 2008 Air Jordan commercial and it’s pretty boss! The little touch Nike adds at 0:33 of this commercial is pretty clever too.

Kobe Bryant wants to sell you broken ankle insurance because he needs the money and you never know when some crab dribbling, And1 freak will explode your ankles like a cat in a microwave (PETA, I’m only kidding).

If you don’t want your ankle premiums to go up, I strongly urge you to sit down with your family and discuss ankle insurance before it’s too late. It could happen at anytime.

But seriously, I haven’t been this impressed with an infomercial since I saw this guy below rapping about Blu-Blockers!

What kinda job can you get with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the College of Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan? Well, for Jason Mayden it landed him a job at Nike where he is currently a Senior Footwear Designer for Jordan Brand.

If that wasn’t sweet enough, Jason Mayden will be designing the 2009 Air Jordan shoe and in this sneak peek video, they look pretty damn sick!!!

If his Guidance Counsellor guessed this for his future job, I want them to start picking stocks for me.

Adidas and Undrcrwn go together like peanut butter and jelly these days and this time they teamed up for a very lunchable TS Creator collaboration.  Playing homage to the NBA Champions ring, these kicks have embossed UNDRCRWN World Champions rings all over them.

I wonder if they had Garnett punch each shoe repeatedly with that ring on for that real effect…
