Kobe Bryant’s Reality Show

Hooped Up | August 27, 2008

Kobe Bryant is a straight up rock star in China!  This wasn’t something that just happened on his arrival to Beijing either. Bryant actually has a reality TV show in China powered by Nike called “Kobe’s Disciples“.   The show featured 24 Chinese kids living and training in the United States and getting tips from Bryant.

This gives me even more reason to believe, that Kobe Bryant will land overseas before his playing days are done.

Call me crazy.

Top 5: Iconic Basketball Shoes Of All-Time

5. Reebok Omni Lite Pump

When I say Reebok Pumps, you automatically think Dee Brown and the “No Look” dunk back in the 1991 Slam Dunk Contest. When Dee Brown pumped up his sneakers and took flight to win rob Shawn Kemp of the dunk crown, it became an instant classic and put Reebok on top.

These sneakers flew off the shelves in the early 90’s!  Say word!

Wolves Unveil New Uniforms

Hooped Up |

I don’t know yet if I’m  hot or cool on the new 20th anniversary Timberwolves uni’s that leaked long before these official photos came out over at the TWolves Blog and Ball Don’t Lie.  What I am hot on, are those kicks Mike Miller is wearing.

Golly, those are hot Pete!

Does anybody know what they are called?

Steve Nash Is The Sixty Million Dollar Man

Hooped Up | August 13, 2008

Nash has been money for bloggers in a a slow off season, dude has been everywhere. As a Lee Majors and Six Million Dollar Man fan, this Steve Nash Sixty Million Dollar Man ad was straight money! I get giddy just hearing the music!

Not only did Nash star in this Nike spot for his environmentally friendly  Trash Talk shoes but, he also produced and directed too.

Somebody please make a non-cheese movie version of The Six Million Dollar Man!

Converse Weapons Shoe Commercial

Hooped Up | July 9, 2008

Best Converse commercial ever?  Well maybe not but, this was definitely the height of Converse rule in the NBA. With a roster of hall of fame players such as Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Isaiah Thomas, Bernard King, Kevin McHale and Mark  Aguirre Converse was ballin’!

Eco-Friendly Trash Talk

Hooped Up | February 20, 2008

Nike is selling sneakers called “Nike Trash Talk” made from 100% trash for $100. The shoes are made up of scraps and manufacturing waste from the factory floor:

“ We were really looking for a ‘here and now’ solution to footwear waste, and creating a performance product using waste materials felt like a very innovative solution. Using Nike’s Considered design ethos we were able to create a shoe that stands up to the stringent on-court performance requirements but is also more environmentally friendly.”

Damn we’re all for the idea of eco-friendliness, but damn $100 for some trash? They could have at least lowered that price a bit.
