adidas has been pretty aggressive on their mission of cool this year with sick releases from the Originals line like the  Augmented Reality Sneaker, the Star Wars Collection, Phantom II NBA Pack,  and these joints KG and D-Rose teach you how to rock just to name a few. Read More »

Players Poll Ranks McGrady As Most Overrated

Hooped Up | February 22, 2010

According to a NBA players poll, new acquired McGrady of the New York Knicks was ranked as the most overrated player in the league receiving 9% of the 173 votes cast, beating Indian Pacers swingman Danny Granger by 4%.

New teammate Al Harrington of also received one vote. Shaquille O’Neal, David West and suspended Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas received 3% of the dubious distinction and 2010 All-Stars LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Dwyane Wade and Gerald Wallace all received more than one vote each.

It’s a good thing that overrated list are usually overrated. See who made the top 5 of this list sponsored by Haterade, quenching the thirst of mediocre talent since the inception of free agency.

Kevin Garnett Makes Breakfast Scary

Hooped Up | January 15, 2010

If the good people at General Mills were going for a picture of Kevin Garnett that would make a child scared to death for breakfast, boy did they ever get it right!

Along with Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols, triathlete Hunter Kemper and decathlete Bryan Clay. Garnett is gracing his own signature box of “The Breakfast of Champions” cereal, remixed as Wheaties Fuel. The only thing is that Garnett’s picture on the box, looks like it’s about to jump on your table and harass you for 94-feet while cursing obscenities at your half awake mug.

Adding milk to this product with KG ice grilling you each morning is gonna take some balls.

KG Out Two More Weeks, Rondo And Pierce Back

Hooped Up | January 6, 2010

The Celtics will almost be at full strength tonight against the Miami Heat when Celtics coach Doc Rivers announced that Rajon Rondo (left hamstring) and Paul Pierce (right knee) will return to the Celtics lineup.

Rondo missed one game with a strained hamstring but said he is at “91 percent” but he hasn’t practiced full speed since the Dec. 30 loss to Phoenix. Pierce said he is not 100 percent but “I feel comfortable getting out there. I have been working hard the last few days and I am ready.”

Kevin Garnett (right knee) was with the team but Rivers said he could be out “another week or two weeks.

All Decade: Best Individual Playoff Performance

Hooped Up | November 23, 2009

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

The NBA is celebrating the decade that was, and you should too. It wasn’t that long ago that everything was Y2K mania and planes were supposed to drop out of the sky and the rise of the machines would actually happen.

Anyway, the NBA is kicking of the celebration by letting you pick who had the Best Individual Playoff Performance of the decade. Allen Iverson, Kevin Garnett, Shaq, Tim Duncan, Dwyane Wade or LeBron James?

With out a doubt, my vote goes to Allen Iverson with his 48 point performance against the Lakers in Game 1 of the 2001 NBA Finals. Watching him step over Tyron Lue after nailing a trey bomb like Lue was an arthritic old guard dog napping was a classic moment.

KG Sinks The Knicks In OT

Hooped Up | November 23, 2009

Some how the New York “We’re Waiting For LeBron, Please Buy Our Expensive Beer At MSG Still” Knicks, managed to force the Celtics into overtime before they reverted back to being the plain old New York “What Defense” Knicks. When the game was on the line. The only way Kevin Garnett could have been more open on this play, was if he had a ring of fire around him.

Just like that, New York is back to reality.

Kevin Garnett Hits A 75-Foot Bomb

Hooped Up | November 19, 2009

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

This 75-foot bomb KG launched going into the half didn’t count, but I’m sure it got New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick thinking about a plan b if Tom Brady goes down.

Brian Hoyer and Isaiah Stanback, watch your back.
