Barclays Center: “It’s beautiful, amazing, really well-done. It’s just classy. It’s still an arena, so there’s only so much you can do. But for an arena, it’s actually really beautiful.”

Brooklyn: “Well, Brooklyn is cool; that’s like the definition. There’s nothing on earth cooler than Brooklyn.”

To commemorate the opening of the Barclays Center and the inaugural season of the Nets in Brooklyn, part owner Jay-Z will release 800 limited edition ‘Carter’ jerseys and 10 of them will be autographed by J himself for a charity auction.

Of the ten jerseys that are autographed, five will be in the black away and five will be in the white home style. The NBA is hosting the auction and all proceeds will go to the Shawn Carter Foundation. The auction ends on Oct. 31.

After a long wait and a few set backs. The new home of the Brooklyn Nets was finally opened for its first night of business by BK native and Nets part owner Jay Z, who will be packing the Barclays Center during his threesold-out concerts in Brooklyn.

“I’ve been on many stages all around the world and nothing feels like tonight,” Jay Z told the cheering audience. I’m really overwhelmed by the moment. [...] I can’t believe that this day has come.”

Always the business,man and not the businessman, Jay Z also unveiled the new jersey the relocated team will be wearing on the road.
