So apparently, the ground breaking ceremony for the Atlantic Yards and the $3.5 billion Barclays Center in Brooklyn where the Nets will call home in 2012 doubled as temporary comedy club for rich up and coming laugh engineers on the NYC comedy scene. Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, Nets owner Jay Z and even New York Governor David Paterson used the event to test drive their new comedic material.

Tracy McGrady has not played an NBA game since Dec. 23 and his debut with the Knicks marked just his seventh this season.

However, judging by his stat line of 26 points on 10 of 17 shooting, 5 assists and 4 rebounds you would have never noticed his long absence. Proving that old beefs die hard. Marbury has been going at Jay-Z lately because of lyrics from Jay-Z’s single released in 2000-freakin’-3, “La, La, La” where HOV said, “Don’t confuse me with Marbury out this bitch / run up on me at the light, you could lose your life.

Jay-Z was on Letterman last night talking about his new album “The Blueprint 3″, that is currently locked in a musical battle on my iPhone with Raekwon’s Only Built For Cuban Linx… Pt.II. However, Only Built For Cuban Linx… Pt.II is only twice as good as Only Built For Cuban Linx… Pt.I. While The Blueprint 3 is three times better than The Blueprint 1. Ah, the importance of basic math shows its worth once again.

Besides talking about his thrice good album, Jigga also discussed the future of the Nets in Brooklyn, LeBron James and marriage life with wife Beyonce, which I imagine can’t be too bad.

Hip-hop artist and part owner of the New Jersy Nets Jay Z and NBA MVP LeBron James roll deep. Even though talk of LeBron James to what will be the Brooklyn Nets in 2010 has died because his asking price is going to be through, these guys seem down for one another.

Anyway the hardest working retired rapper in the game is back with a new album dropping in September “The Blueprint³ ” and one of his latest singles on the album is “Death of Autotune” (lets hope) with new video to match.

Watch for LeBron James at the 3:57 mark not paying basketball on the ball court with Jay-Z. Harvey Keitel makes an appearance in this video too, but he didn’t average 28ppg, 7 ast and 7 rebs this past season so nobody really cares.

The stars were out  to “Witness” LeBron James at Madison Square Garden last night, gearing up for “the year they make contact“.  Jay-Z, Beyonce, Chloë Sevigny, Spike Lee, Q-Tip and some dude that looks like he got knocked the F-out by Telly and Casper behind Jay-Z; were all in attendance.  I guess its dangerous to wear a Knicks St.Patrick’s Day shirt coupled with a speed bag shaped head in NYC these days.
