The Suns Make 42 Years Of Losing Cool

Hooped Up | October 26, 2010

The Phoenix Suns have been in existence for 42 long years and in that time, not once has the Larry O’Brien trophy enjoyed the dry Arizona heat for an entire summer. Sure that kinda sucks, but it’s not like they’re the Cubs or anything — my apologizes for that low blow Chicago.

Anyway, after watching this bitchin’ video put together to make it look like Steve Nash, Charles Barkley, Connie Hawkins, Kevin Johnson, Jeff Hornacek and Dan Majerle were losing for all 42 of those years together as teammates. How tragically cool.

Homer News: Phoenix Suns (44-26)

Phoenix Suns escape resilient Golden State Warriors
Suns All-Star Amare Stoudemire welcomed Anthony Tolliver to Phoenix, putting the words on his jersey in his face and then popping the letters to the crowd after a slamming, 3-point fastbreak play that turned momentum the Suns’ way late in a 133-131 victory over Golden State at Oracle Arena.

It didn’t matter how many points the NBA’s two highest scoring teams put up Monday night. They could not get away from each other.

Playing right into each other’s offenses hands, the Warriors and Suns exchanged points without a scoring lull all game. Neither team ever led by more than six points but Golden State proved persistent, retaking the lead six times in the fourth quarter before Stoudemire’s relentless, unstoppable attack on Tolliver ultimately proved too much with Phoenix never trailing after the dunk with 2:33 to go…

DJ Jason Richardson On The Cut

Hooped Up | August 25, 2009

Who knew that with all the money Jason Richardson is already making, that we would still supplement his income by being a basement jam DJ on weekends. With help from DJ Hapa at the DJ Scratch Academy, “DJ Factor” learns how to put his weight on the turntables like Mister Cee and he can do the crab at a 12th grade level after just one session at the academy.

At this rate, he’ll be ready for the DMC’s by next summertime!

Suns Suspended Richardson 1 Game

Hooped Up | February 17, 2009

The Phoenix Suns suspended Jason Richardson without pay for one game, after he was jailed and booked on counts or endangerment, reckless driving, failure to use a child seat and excessive speed Sunday.

“I just want to apologize to everybody, teammates, my family, especially my fiancee,” Richardson said. “This is a tough time for me. I’ve been questioned as a basketball player, questioned as a person, but my fatherhood in question is tough, because I try to be the best father I can be and try to keep my kids out of harm’s way.”

Richardson was driving 90 mph in a 35-mph zone in Scottsdale with his 3-year-old son unrestrained in the back seat.

J-Rich Dealt To Phoenix

Hooped Up | December 11, 2008

Who saw this one coming? Not even Miss Cleo saw this happening and she’s the all knowing! Given the new direction Steve Kerr has been building towards emphasizing defence, this move is a bit of a surprise. Yesterday, Raja Bell along with forward Boris Diaw and guard Sean Singletary were dealt to the Charlotte Bobcats for Jason Richardson and forward Jared Dudley. This trade automatically works for the Suns offensively with Richardson giving them an added scoring punch, in the form of a legit shooting guard. However, Richardson is still allergic to defence and Bell will be missed against the likes of Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.

Straight up, this trade doesn’t work for the Bobcats because Diaw will be joining an already crowded front court and lets just face it. Nothing ever works out for them anyway. Their I said it!
