Served: A Lefty Slam Gets Got By Jamario Moon

Hooped Up | November 26, 2009

Off a pretty toss from LeBron James, Jamario Moon readjusts mid-air to catch the rock with his left hand to lower the southpaw boom. With Shaq in a suit watching on the sideline, all of a sudden everything in Cleveland seems to be working primo.

Get well Shaq — in March.

Cavs Sign Jamario Moon

Hooped Up | July 20, 2009

Holy stack-a-moly Batman!!! The Cleveland Cavaliers are stacking up their team like pancakes on a fat kids plate and hungry GM Danny Ferry hopes to add Jamario Moon to the Cavs menu roster.

The Cavaliers have signed restricted free agent Jamario Moon of Miami to an offer sheet, according to a league source.

The Cavaliers have about $3.2 million remaining on their midlevel exception that they can use to pay Moon, a 6-8 swingman, or they can use their $2 million biannual exception. The offer is for two guaranteed years. Once the league receives the paperwork, which is expected to be today, the Heat will have seven days to match the offer.

By the way the Cavs are adding talent, you can tell Danny Ferry ain’t takin’ no shorts in 2010. Hopefully this time around they won’t get straight dissed in the eastern conference finals.

Cavaliers Sign Jamario Moon

Hooped Up | July 12, 2009

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed restricted free agent Jamario Moon to an offer sheet.

Miami has seven days to match the offer. Moon averaged 7.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 26.5 minutes per game last year. The Heat already have a glut of wing players and team president Pat Riley has often said often over the past few weeks that salary cap and luxury tax restrictions could force Miami to keep as few as 13 players on the roster as opposed to the maximum 15.

Moon has spent four seasons in the NBA, the first three with Toronto, averaging 7.8 points and 5.4 rebounds.

The O’Neal For Marion Trade Finally Happens

Hooped Up | February 13, 2009

I’ve stayed away from posts regarding this much rumoured trade because, the foreplay between the Heat and Raptors in the media regarding this trade was way too much. However, today was deadline deal sexy time!

The Heat and Raptors finally pulled the trigger on a deal that will send Jermaine O’Neal to the Miami Heat along with forward Jamario Moon. In return, Toronto will get veteran forward Shawn Marion and guard Marcus Banks.

This deal is still pending league approval.

Will Phoenix Trade Steve Nash To Toronto?

Hooped Up | January 14, 2009

If the Phoenix Suns trade Steve Nash to the Toronto Raptors, my chances of getting this wicked job has hope too. According to Sam Smith, the Phoenix Suns have been offered a deal by the Toronto Raptors that would have Jose Calderon, Andrea Bargnani, Anthony Parker, Jason Kopono and perhaps Jamario Moon going to the Suns. Going back to Toronto would be Nash, Leandro Barbosa and Robin Lopez.

This deal makes a lot of sense for Toronto because it would have the best player ever Canada has ever produced (sorry Bill Wennington) coming back home. Plus the Suns, might as well make a deal for a new point guard after they soured Nash by dealing his boys Diaw and Bell to the Bobcats.

As soon as they did that Nash was guaranteed to be Audi 5000 in 2010. Still Nash is a future Hall of Famer and him being traded by the Suns would not make the Phoenix faithful happy.

If this trade happens, lets hope I get that job too.

New Moon Rising

Hooped Up | January 13, 2008

Jamario Moon, the Toronto Raptors’ 27-year-old rookie, got word Friday that he will be among the participants in the slam-dunk contest at the NBA All-Star Weekend in New Orleans on February 16th. “I feel great, I’m excited,” said Moon, a 6-foot-8 forward who has drawn comparisons to former NBA legend Julius Erving — Dr. J — for his swooping drives to the basket and his ability to palm the basketball with ease. Moon’s teammates are excited as well.
