It’s been almost 10 years since LeBron James made the jump from high school straight into the NBA, yet somehow it’s easy to forget just how good he was in his varsity days. As a refresher, check out all of LBJ’s stats from his high school days and remember why he had so much praised heaped upon him before he become the first pick in the 2003 draft and a four time NBA MVP.
After JR Smith wrote down “Get chicks or die trying” on a piece of paper to be submitted to the high school yearbook counsel for his senior year quote. I imagine he dropped the pen, walked out of the class, left the school, smoked a cigarette and got a tattoo. If that situation went down any other way, I’d be pretty disappointed.
Specially made for the McDonald’s All American Game. The East players will wear an eye-catching black impact camo version while West players will suit up in red. In a few weeks, the 12th annual Jordan Brand Classic goes down at the Barclays Center. Which will showcase some of the brightest high school talent on the planet. Of course, as the name of the event would suggest. All the athletes participating will be draped in Jordan Brand gear that was unveiled today.
The East squad will were black uniforms with gold trim and the West side will wear red uniforms with gold trim. Both sides will wear variations of the Air Jordan XX8, tailored to their sides respective colorway. Oh yeah, if you’re lucky enough to get tickets for this event. You will also get a chance to see Drake perform once it’s over. Not a bad deal at all.
High school baller Trey Johnson scored a game-winning basket at the buzzer. Usually that’s a great thing, but this time it wasn’t — cause Johnson scored on the wrong basket. Oops. With just 3.7 seconds left in the game and his team up by one-point. Johnson received an inbound pass, but instead of dribbling out the clock Bob Cousy style, Johnson streaked towards his own basket and made a layup to seal victory for Millwood High School 38-37. Too bad he plays for Hugo High School.
As you would expect, something like this could easily crush a teenagers spirit, but the OKC Thunder have rallied around Johnson during this tough time.

Thunder GM Sam Presti also set Trey Johnson up with some free tickets which he took advantage of yesterday and after the game, Russell Westbrook gave him an autographed pair of his game worn shoes. It’s nice to know these kind things still happen. Stay classy OKC.
