David Lee Is Getting Frustrated

Hooped Up | March 6, 2010

David Lee is getting tired of playing center for the Knicks and I’m getting tired of watching him play center for the Knicks. Despite finishing with a more than respectable statline of 23 points and 18 rebounds against the Chris Bosh-less Raptors Friday, the outcome was all too familiar — a loss.

“I’m doing my best down there at 6-9 to contest shots,” Lee said. “I’m going to try to do better, control the paint better. A lot of times I’m playing a guy 5 inches bigger than I am and 50 pounds heavier. It’s something I can definitely get better at. We have 21 games left and I’ll be at the ‘five’ and see what happens. I’m doing all I can do.”

With one more loss the New York Knicks will secure their ninth straight non-winning season and by playing Lee at the center position it’s only a matter of time. However on a bright note, Eddy Curry who has been sidelined since Dec.17th  is scheduled to make a return — again and could see some minutes at the center spot as early as tonight against the New Jersey Nets.

Homer News: NY Knicks (19-29)

Hooped Up | February 5, 2010

It’s true: Robinson will start for Knicks on Friday
Expect to see Nate Robinson starting tomorrow night when the Knicks play the Bucks at Madison Square Garden.

“It looks like Nate probably will start as the point guard,” Mike D’Antoni said after practice today. “We’ll go with the way we finished up the game [last night], which I thought was good, good energy and then we’ll see what the rotation will look like, but that seems to be the plan right now.”

Robinson helped spark the Knicks’ turnaround in their win over Washington at the Garden last night. He, like several teammates, has been in and out of D’Antoni’s rotation this season.

WAGs: Sabina Gadecki + David Lee

Hooped Up | November 16, 2009

Being a restricted free agent this summer with few offers, David Lee resigned with the Knicks for one-year. 10 games into season, the Knicks are terrible with only 1 win under their belt. But besides probably having a swanky Manhattan pad and millions in the bank to burn. Lee also does well with the ladies judging by the looks of his girlfriend Sabina Gadecki, host of The World Poker Tour.

She might not make up for the Knicks stinking, but I’m sure she doesn’t hurt either.

More Sabina Gadecki after the jump.

David Lee Re-Signs With New York

Hooped Up | September 25, 2009

It’s about freakin’ time!

Yesterday, David Lee finally re-signed with the Knicks inking a one-year pact worth about 8 million US planetary credits. Lee would have preferred a multi-year deal to stay in NY, but Knicks GM Donnie Walsh hoping to save salary cap room for 2010 aka the Summer of LeBron. Forced Lee to settle for a shot at some unrestricted free agent mad duckets next year.

Last season with the Knickerbockers, Lee averaged 16 points and 11.7 rebounds last season and led the NBA with 65 double-doubles and was third in rebounding.

If you live in NYC and you’re a Knicks fan, go out and celebrate this signing with a really good slice of Brooklyn Style Sicilian Pizza.

Weight Watcher points, be damned fatty!

Could David Lee Hold Out On The Knicks?

Hooped Up | September 24, 2009

While Knicks guard Nate Robinson is close to signing a one-year deal for more than the $2.9 million qualifying offer, the real story is David Lee’s situation, which is a lot less certain just four days before training camp opens in Saratoga. According to a source, Robinson could ink a one-year contract after agreeing to major portions of a incentive-laden deal. A source with intimate knowledge of the situation said the deal still must be finalized but could be signed today or tomorrow. Knicks officials are confident they also will ink Lee to a one-year deal before Monday’s camp. But his agent, Mark Bartelstein, stopped short of saying that, raising the specter of a holdout.

A Lee-Boozer Swap Is Not Going Down

Hooped Up | September 17, 2009

The Jazz were trying to land David Lee in a sign-and-trade that could involve Carlos Boozer. While that scenario had been discussed earlier in the summer [...] multiple sources denied anything lately had developed to bring any imminent status.

One went as far as saying “Not happening” when asked specifically about the Jazz scenario.

It seems pretty clear that Donnie Walsh isn’t interested in dumping an impressive young power forward who happens to be one of the franchise’s homegrown assets.

David Lee Getting Frustrated With NY

Hooped Up | July 24, 2009

At this point, David Lee Roth would have about as much of a shot of gaining the respect of the Knicks as does David Lee and the the current / former / current Van Halen front man rock climbs better than he can play basketball.

Twenty three days into his free agency, David Lee seemed as hot as the Las Vegas sun. Lee, who is attending the U.S. Olympic mini-camp but not participating because of his unresolved contract, let loose his “frustration” at being nowhere close to a deal with the Knicks. “I’ve been frustrated a little bit by the amount of effort put in and it’s been tough,” Lee told reporters in Vegas. “I figured with what I’ve done for the Knicks the last four years and with what they’ve done for me, and being a fan favorite and being somebody that loves New York as much as I have the last four years, I thought something would get done a little quicker.”

The Knicks are just dying to sign and trade this guy so why don’t they just do it and get a point guard. For some reason, the Knicks are anti double-double and David Lee just won’t survive in NY. Even if they re-sign him, he’ll still have a bad taste in his mouth about all of this, and he will bolt whenever he’s an unrestricted free-agent.

I know I would.
