Being a cheerleader in the NBA can take you to many exiting new places like China, England Mexico or the adult industry. Wha??? Four months after her contract ended with the Atlanta Hawks as a dancer, Briana who’s stage name is now Brandy Blair signed up with a studio to do love ninja flicks.

“I’ve always been pretty open minded,” said Blair, “even though I had always been reserved sexually, I thought I’d give it a try.”

Blair continued, “I had never even posed nude before, and all of the sudden I saw this whole other side of myself that I had never seen. It has been a very liberating experience.”

Well you know what they say, if you find a job you love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life…

Oh Monday, why can’t you be more like your others siblings on the calendar? Curse you! (waiving my fist at the heavens) My Monday is especially — Monday-ish on this Monday because I played a game of pick up ball last night and my entire body feels like Chuck Hayes free-throw shot.

Monday beefs aside, to spread a little joy on this day check out 10 minutes of the Suns Dancers auditions. It might not be enough to forget it’s Monday, but at least this video has a Saturday vibe to it.

Each year, hundreds of girls audition for the chance to have David Beckham check out out their assets from the Lakers sidelines and to also be a Lakers girl.

The 2009-2010 squad held auditions this week at the Los Angeles Lakers training facility in El Segundo, CA. Over 500 girls showed up, but no more than 22 could make the final squad.

The Shanghai leg of an NBA cheerleading-squad contest yesterday selected eight cheerleaders for the semifinals. The eight may have the chance to go to the United States to perform at an NBA game, organizers said.

Arranged by China Central Television’s sports channel, Tsingtao Beer and the National Basketball Association, the contest will take place in 48 cities across the country over the next six months. The Shanghai leg, held at Shanghai University, was the second preliminary contest.

The contest is divided into six areas. Each area will select eight cheerleaders from 12 squads. A total of 48 cheerleaders will participate in the semifinals in Guangzhou and Xi’an. Twelve will be selected to take part in the finals in Beijing. They will be flown to the US for professional cheerleading training and may get the chance to perform at an NBA game.

At the first preliminary heat, held in Jinan, Shandong Province, on June 2, NBA star Richard Hamilton was there to encourage the cheerleaders.
