Knicks Still Interested In McGrady

Hooped Up | February 10, 2010

The glimmer in the eye Knicks GM Donnie Walsh aka Tracy McGrady, is still bright and with the mid-season trade deadline fast approaching the Knicks are kicking the tires on a complex, three-team deal that would send T-Mac to the New York Knicks, according to Yahoo! Sports.

The deal would have the Washington Wizards moving Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood to the Houston Rockets. The Knicks sending  Al Harrington to the Wizards, plus another player, possible draft picks and cash to make this deal fly.

This season Tracy McGrady is the highest paid player in the NBA earning an estimated $23 million per year.

Brendan Haywood: No Athlete Would Want To Get Dressed Around Marbury

Hooped Up | August 18, 2009

Brendan Haywood had some very interesting things to say regarding Starbury TV during an interview with Hardcore Sports Radio and I don’t think he and Marbury will be friends on Twitter anytime soon. When asked about Marbury, Haywood basically calls him a homosexual.

Read Brendan Haywood’s very controversial comments after the jump.

Outlet Pass: Magical Kidd, Hansbrough Slides + Snow Released

Hooped Up | April 6, 2009

Jason Kidd had 19 points, a season-high 20 assists and a major career milestone — all in three quarters — sending Dallas to a 140-116 victory over Phoenix on Sunday, virtually assuring the Mavericks of no worse than the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Dallas leads Phoenix by four games with five to play. The Mavericks, who won the season series, hold the tiebreaker over the Suns. Any Dallas win or Phoenix loss clinches a ninth straight postseason trip for the Mavericks and ends a streak of four straight playoff trips for the Suns.

Kidd’s 14th assist gave him 10,142 for his career, passing Magic Johnson for No. 3 on the NBA’s list. Among those who gave him a standing ovation was broadcaster Mark Jackson, who is second with 10,334.

Jamison Will Not Miss Any Games

Hooped Up | October 9, 2008

Good news for Antawn Jamison and really bad news for Brendan Haywood.

“An MRI on Washington Wizards forward Antawn Jamison’s right knee Wednesday revealed he has a knee contusion and will not miss any regular-season action. Meanwhile, the news on center Brendan Haywood’s right wrist was far graver. Haywood’s wrist has a torn ligament that requires surgery to correct, so he will miss four to six months. The center, who first thought he had sprained the wrist, saw two specialists in New York on Wednesday, who both offered the same diagnosis. ”

Haywood Could Be Out Six Months

Hooped Up | October 8, 2008

The Wizards are without Agent Zero until maybe December and now they could be without starting center Brendan Haywood for six months.  Ouch!

“No word yet on Brendan Haywood’s consultation with another hand specialist in New York. We do know that Haywood met with another yesterday and that doctor recommended that he undergo a surgery that would put him out between four to six months. The injury is simimlar to the one Antonio Daniels suffered and played with last season but one key difference is that Daniels hurt his left (non shooting wrist). Haywood injured his shooting hand.”
