The Lakers Cleavage Cam

Hooped Up | November 7, 2008

The Blazers are getting blown out, the Greg Oden showcase was cut short and Kobe Bryant was sent to the bench. In a word the Blazers vs. Lakers season opener became kinda “boring”, even for the cameraman. But as Bryant went to the bench things picked up for a brief moment with the debut of the Lakers Cleavage Cam.

Notice how Kevin Harlan all of a sudden forgets how to speak after he sees the cleavage in the background and how hard the camera man tries to keep the cleavage in the shot even with graphics up. Hilarious!

That’s a surprise indeed Mr. Harlan.

Heidi Klum Versus Kobe Bryant

Hooped Up | November 6, 2008

What’s better than watching Kobe Bryant a 10-time NBA All-Star, 3-time NBA Champion, NBA MVP and 2-time NBA Scoring Champion rockin’ out with Guitar Hero? Well a half naked Victoria Secret model named Heidi Klum rockin’ out with Guitar Hero will probably do.

Yes it’s a slow day but, look at you not complaining and smiling.

Lakers Make It Rain On Bynum

Hooped Up | October 31, 2008

The Lakers made it rain on Andrew Bynum signing him to four-year deal worth $57.4 million.  To celebrate I think he should make it rain vocoder’s in the Lakers lockeroom now that he’s not dirt poor.

“With an average salary of $14.35 million instead of the maximum $17 million, the Lakers just got about a $10-million discount over four seasons (three guaranteed, the fourth at the team’s option, limiting its exposure in case of catastrophic injury). Add in another $10 million in luxury tax and the Lakers just saved about $20 million. Of course, the injury poses a risk, but which of their players doesn’t run a risk every time he goes out there? ”

Ariza Contract Talk Next

Hooped Up |

The Lakers will have to shell out for young forward Trevor Ariza if they want to keep him but will they?

“Andrew Bynum on Thursday signed a four-year contract extension worth $57.4 million, but the Lakers aren’t done talking with agent David Lee. Lee also represents forward Trevor Ariza, who will be an unrestricted free agent in July in what could be another lengthy contract negotiation. Ariza has increased his all-around game, adding a three-point shot to an already intriguing mix of solid defense and burst around the basket. ”

David Beckham Loves Basketball…Cheerleaders

Hooped Up |

During the season opener between the Lakers and Blazers Tuesday night in the Staples Centre. LA blew out Portland by 20 points, Greg Oden got injured and Kobe Bryant looked great! But, if your David Beckham you don’t care because none of these things had to do with the Lakers dance teams @sses.

In these pictures he has a look of concentration on his face, reserved only for taking a shot at goal with a free kick in the World Cup.

Hooped Up: Los Angeles Lakers 08-09 Season Preview

Hooped Up | October 28, 2008

A team-by-team preview of all 30 NBA teams heading into the 2008 - 2009 season, Hooped Up style.

Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers came into the NBA finals on fire after acquiring Pau Gasol  but got man handled by the Boston Celtics. They never really added or subtracted from this line up, but they will have a healthy Andrew Bynum returning that will have to co-exist with Pau Gasol on the block; they moved Lamar Odom to the bench to be the sixth man capable of playing all five positions and will start Vladimir Radmonovic in his place. MVP Kobe Bryant is angry about how the season ended last year and who can blame him, the Lakers got moirdered in the finals.

This team wants another shot at the title and it looks like they might just get it.

Projected Starters: PG - Derek Fisher / SG - Kobe Bryant / SF - Vladimir Radmonovic / PF - Pau Gasol / C - Andrew Bynum

Additions: Joe Crawford, Sun Yue, Josh Powell, Dwayne Mitchell, Brandon Heath, CJ Giles

Losses: Ronny Turiaf, D.J. Mbenga, Ira Newble

Projected Wins: 60+

Team Theme Song:  Madvillain - All Caps
Kobe Bryant wants you to spell his name KOBE BRYANT to secure his legacy of success without SHAQ and only a CHAMPIONSHIP win will allow this.

Overall
After a MVP season and championship beatin’ by the Celtics, Kobe Bryant is angry and will play with one single thought all season long.  Revenge!!!  12 year pro Derek Fisher who has seen his fair share of playoff combat has got to feel the same way too. A healthy contract seeking Andrew Bynum in the front-court will have his best season ever and Pau Gasol will be consistent at the power forward spot. Lamar Odom is always the x-factor and with his new bench role, he might turn out to be more valuable as a movable line up piece.

If they don’t make another trip to the the NBA finals this year, it would be considered a failure. Straight up!

Bynum Makes It Rain On Common Folk

Hooped Up | October 27, 2008

Check out Andrew Bynum celebrting his 21st birthday at the club. This was just like my 21st birthday, but we had a smoke machine and Ol’ Dirty Bastard playing piano.

I wish Andrew Bynum could make it rain on my student loan!

Guitar Hero, Kobe Bryant

Hooped Up | October 24, 2008

The good part of this commercial is that Tony Hawk, Micheal Phelps, Alex Rodriguez and Kobe Bryant  do an awesome job promoting the newest version of Guitar Hero and the bad news is that now I will have to shell out the clams to purchase this addictive series.

Olympian, MVP and now Guitar Hero, Kobe Bryant you rock at an expert level my friend!

Bryant Injures Right Knee

Hooped Up | October 22, 2008

Who hasn’t been injured this pre-season is the real question.  Everyday it seems like some big names go down with an injury and tonight it was Kobe Bryant, in the second quarter of Tuesday’s 102-98 exhibition victory over the Bobcats as reported by the LA Times.

Bryant injured himself after he went knee-to-knee with Josh Powell and is listed as day-to-day.  Barcelona isn’t keeping a close eye on this one but, Josh Powell is having others start his car.

Nice going taking out the franchise, new guy.

Bynum Wants $17 Million A Year

Hooped Up | October 21, 2008

Bynum had a pretty good season last year before it ended in injury, but was it  $17 million a year good?  Well,  Bynum and his 10% of all earnings agent David Lee sure think so.  If for some crazy reason Bynum gets 17 million samolians from the Lakers, look for a free agent Kobe Bryant to be somewhere else in 2010.  I hear Italy is pretty nice…

“Lee is seeking a five-year extension for his client worth an estimated $17 million a year, while the Lakers are more comfortable paying Bynum about $10 million a year, possibly with incentives for All-Star appearances and team playoff success. As per terms of the collective-bargaining agreement, teams can only offer incentives that move an annual salary upward. Bynum could not be penalized financially for missing games because of injuries.”
