Hooped Up | March 19, 2010

Michael Clarke Duncan is a huge man who could probably crush a Walnut with his eye lash and he’s a Clippers fan which means dude has a lot of heart — a lot. During the Bucks vs. Clippers telecast, Mark Jackson decided to share the “dine-n-dash” tale of his good buddy MCD who happened to be sitting courtside about two seats down from Jackson. Read More »

New Clippers GM Neil Olshey Wanted To Be An Actor

Hooped Up | March 11, 2010

New Clippers GM Neil Olshey originally moved to Los Angeles to become an actor and instead he ended up being named GM of the LA Clippers which is also a role largely based on fiction.

While in New York”scouting” the Big East Tournement, Olshey spoke to Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling and team President Andy Roeser via phone and learned he would be assuming Dunleavy’s duties, moving up from the position of assistant general manager, which he had held since the start of last season.

Olshey who has had bit roles on shows like “All My Children” credits the late star of ‘Law & Order’ Jerry Orbach with the advice that eventually led him to the NBA.

Clippers Tell Mike Dunleavy Peace

Hooped Up | March 10, 2010

From the outside looking in, the Clippers organization seems like the greatest reality not produced by Mark Burnett, so nothing I hear about them is remotely shocking anymore. So the fact that Mike Dunleavy (who a real team would have fired ages ago) was fired after being promoted to General Manager a few months back, sounds just about right. Here is the statement the Clippers released after they canned Dunleavy.

“The organization has determined that the goal of building a winning team is best served by making this decision at this time.

“The team has simply not made sufficient progress during Dunleavy’s seven-year tenure. The Clippers want to win now. This transition, in conjunction with a full commitment to dedicate unlimited resources, is designed to accomplish that objective.”

Good grief Charlie Brown. As far as bad jobs go, being apart of the losing machine that is the Clippers front office has got to be up there with passing out flyers, telemarketing and cleaning up after Snoopy. Read More »

Baron Davis is the illest don dada you’ve ever met and Cash Warren’s best friend. He also has a beard that demands respect and he’s willing to help you hide your weak chin for the small fee of $5000 USD $29.99 USD (thanks Kate) to buy “Booms Beard” endorsed by Deron Williams and another guy named Baron Davis.

But wait, there’s more.

Lamar Odom Dunks On The Moon

Hooped Up | February 23, 2010

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

With help from PowerBar Energy Blasts, Lamar Odom can dunk on the moon without breaking a sweat. Heck, he can even take a detour through Saturn and still get the jam done with aid from Enegry Blasts, now that’s impressive.

You should thank your lucky stars that PowerBar wasn’t available when Darryl Dawkins was in prime, because your telescope would be useless I tell ya.

Now ima go do a slamma jamma on pluto!!

Served: Ratliff Gets Got By DeAndre Jordan

If DeAndre Jordan was mic’d for sound on this jam on Theo Ratliff. I imagine you would be about to hear him say Montell Jordan’s famous words “This is how we do it“.

Jordan looked like an O.G. mack on this play and made Ratliff look like a wanna be playa.

Homer News: LA Clippers (23-33)

Hooped Up | February 23, 2010

Newcomers play part in 98-94 victory over Charlotte
Baron Davis’ back was back, but could that help the Clippers put up back-to-back victories?

They coughed up another big lead, then had a reversal of fortune with a late video review and scored a 98-94 victory over Charlotte on Monday at Staples Center. Chris Kaman had 18 points and 13 rebounds and the Clippers got a boost from their newcomers to record consecutive victories for the first time in more than a month.

The Clippers, with Travis Outlaw and Drew Gooden making their debuts, built a 13-point lead in the second period but reverted to the turnover-prone form that has dogged them in the past four games.

As long as Li-Ning and Baron Davis keep coming out with unique product videos like this. It won’t be long before Li-Ning is a recognized brand in North America too.

In this video, an 8-Bit BoomDizzle, makes his way through the streets of Shanghai dodging cars, bikes and pedestrians as he heads to the Li-Ning flagship store.

The dribbling exhibition Boom displays at (1:11) is something to behold, or was it just bad defense? You decide.
