Carmelo Anthony has been awarded for his good deeds off the court. Winning the NBA Cares Community Assist Award for the month of November.

“Giving back to the community is where my heart is, so if I can help even a couple people then I’m doing my job,” said Anthony, who will be presented Wednesday on the Garden court with the David Robinson Award by John Starks and Bob Lanier. “I’m blessed to be able to do this work and much more is still to come.”

Last month Melo also paid a visit to Riker’s Island to speak with young inmates.

“I felt like here in New York, due to everything that’s going on behind the bars over there at Riker’s Island, I wanted to see that,” he said. “I wanted to feel that and actually hear what the inmates had to say, what the kids and the youth had to say.”

Thanks to Anthony, 800 Bronx families were provided with food, personal-care items and living essentials.
