Today Joakim Noah became the first Bulls player since Michael Jordan in 1988 to be named Defensive Player of the Year. This season Noah had posted averages of 12.6 points, 11.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game during the regular season. While leading the Bulls to the 4th best record in the Eastern Conference.

Indiana’s Roy Hibbert (166 points, eight first-place votes) and the Los Angeles Clippers’ DeAndre Jordan (121 points, eight first-place votes) finished second and third, respectively.
