Tell us what you really think about Kevin Garnett, Joakim Noah. In a recent interview on ESPN 1000, Noah chimed in on KG the enemy to cancer patients everywhere, and in classic Noah style, he didn’t beat around the bush.
“Kevin Garnett will not — will not — get a Christmas gift from me,” Noah said with a tinge of humor Wednesday on “The Waddle & Silvy Show” on ESPN 1000. “I don’t like him. He’s a very mean guy,” Noah said Wednesday. “Where’s the love? None at all. Ugly, too.”
Damn! Garnett is losing fans in the league faster than Tim Donaghy these days. Before I was a huge fan of KG jawing at everybody, but when he ran out of stinging insults for his opponents and decided to use cancer to berate the opposition, I kinda lost my taste for his tactics. Who the hell uses cancer to get under somebody’s skin anyway? What is this, the 1920’s?
The beef Noah has with KG goes back to his rookie days when he first entered the league as a fresh faced bow-tie wearing youngster in 2007.
“I had his poster in my room,” Noah said. “I used to wear his jersey. And the truth is my rookie year, I was in admiration of this guy, and he kind of shut me down.
“And he was very mean to me my rookie year. And he’s only mean to the young guys and the [European players], for some reason. I don’t know why, but that’s who he doesn’t like. He’s not nice. I talk a lot of trash out there, but c’mon, be a little sensitive. Be sweet.”
And that was the beginning of the end, of Kevin Garnett receiving a gift from Joakim Noah.
