Jordan, Bobcats Donate $250K To Local Schools

Next week Michael Jordan and the Bobcats will donating $250,000 towards middle-school athletics programs in Charlotte.

According to the Charlotte Observer, the local school board will cut $1.25 million from athletics programs and officials announced a plan to charge students $50 for middle-schoolers and $100 high-schoolers who play.

“Michael Jordan is building up what we’ve been preaching, that we’re going to find a way to make sure no kid is left out that wants to play sports,” said Ridge Road Middle School, athletic director Tony Huggins.

After Jordan bought the Bobcats, he pledged to be a contributor to the Charlotte community and he’s wasting no time putting his money where his mouth is, good stuff MJ. The Bobcats and Michael Jordan will present their generous donation next Monday.
