Outlet Pass: 0-14 Nets, Iverson In Green + Being Scared Of NY
Hooped Up | November 25, 2009At 0-14, the Nets are three defeats away from tying the all-time mark for consecutive losses out of the gate. Two teams have done it – the 1988-89 Heat and the 1998-99 Clippers.
The Nets can tie the record on Sunday against the Lakers if they do not win tonight in Portland or Friday in Sacramento. If they finish the trip with 17 losses, they could set a new standard for season-opening ineptitude on Wednesday at home against old friend Jason Kidd and the Mavericks.

Just to be clear on this, Allen Iverson is not walking through that door. But the possibility is something the Celtics have considered – and could revisit. Danny Ainge always has been a fan of Iverson, and he tried very hard to get him here in the summer of 2006 and the season that followed. A number of times, the Celtics president of basketball operations was in talks with the 76ers before Iverson was shipped to Denver.

Lakers forward Ron Artest thinks the Knicks may face a giant hurdle in July, 2010, saying players are “scared” of signing with the Knicks because of the pressure, fans and negative media coverage.
Artest also revealed he wanted to sign with the Knicks when he became a free agent July 1, but never got the call from his former boss, Knicks president Donnie Walsh.
The Queensbridge native and St. John’s star always aspired to wear the orange and blue, but he feels most others don’t have that dream. Besides superstars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, the Knicks also have their eye on free agents Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire and Joe Johnson to sign with their league-high cap space.
