New Orleans Hornets ‘09-10 Season Preview
Hooped Up | October 29, 2009Another van glorious season of NBA basketball is about to begin and Hooped Up does a quick and dirty preview of all 30 clubs.
A few years ago the Hornets seemed ready to shake up the west coast establishment, but now they’re hoping to catch lighting in a bottle by riding Chris Paul and his playmaking ability to the promise land.
By trading Tyson Chandler for Emeka Okafor the Hornets got a bit more offensive, but with Chris Paul at the point Sean Marks is a dangerous offensive threat too. David West has soaked up the goodness that is Paul the most in New Orleans becoming an all-star in the process, but this year CP3 will need more help to make noise in the west. Then again, Paul is so good he could force the Hornets to over achieve all over again.
Projected Starters: PG – Chris Paul / SG – Morris Peterson / SF – Julian Wright / PF – David West / C – Emeka Okafor
Sixth Man: Peja Stojakovic
Key Reserves: James Posey, Ike Diogu, Bobby Brown, Hilton Armstrong
Projected Wins: 45
Team Theme Song: Maestro-Fresh-Wes – Conductin’ Thangs
With CP3 conductin’ thangs at the point, anything is possible.
