Memphis Grizzlies ‘09-10 Season Preview
Hooped Up | October 29, 2009Another van glorious season of NBA basketball is about to begin and Hooped Up does a quick and dirty preview of all 30 clubs.
This summer the Grizzlies took a leap towards respectably by grabbing Allen Iverson, but unfortunately they also grabbed Zach Randolph too. Will those two moves balance out into some kinda crazy win formula? The Grizzlies sure hope so.
As a facilitator, Allen Iverson will be the best thing that has ever happened to O.J. Mayo, Rudy Gay, and Marc Gasol since they became members of the Grizzlies. Because of that, they’ll be one of the funnest teams to watch on the break, but it probably won’t translate into a playoff appearance – again.
Projected Starters: PG - Mike Conley / SG - O.J. Mayo / SF - Rudy Gay / PF - Zach Randolph / C - Marc Gasol
Sixth Man: Allen Iverson
Key Reserves: Darrell Arthur, Sam Young, DeMarre Carroll, Hasheem Thabeet, Steven Hunter
Projected Wins: 32
Team Theme Song: Eric B. & Rakim – Follow The Leader
It sounds weird, but Iverson is now the veteran presence in the lockeroom, this could be a good or bad thing.
