Dallas Mavericks ‘09-10 Season Preview

Hooped Up | October 27, 2009

Another van glorious season of NBA basketball is about to begin and Hooped Up does a quick and dirty preview of all 30 clubs.

The Mavericks reloaded this offseason hoping their championship window hasn’t closed and that’s why they got Shawn Marion. I would love to be as optimistic (or rich) as Mark Cuban is about this squad, but then I’d be living in 2006.

Don’t get me wrong, with a line up of Jason Kidd, Josh Howard, Shawn Marion, Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry coming off the bench. The Mavs will get 50 wins almost guaranteed, but that won’t make a lick of a difference to the outcome of their season like every other 50 win season they’ve had.

Projected Starters: PG - Jason Kidd / SG - Josh Howard / SF - Shawn Marion / PF - Dirk Nowitzki / C - Drew Gooden

Sixth Man: Jason Terry

Key Reserves: Erick Dampier, Tim Thomas, J.J. Barea, Quinton Ross, Rodrigue Beaubois

Projected Wins: 50

Team Theme Song: The Killers – When You Were Young
I do know, they can’t climb this mountain.

Why is everybody writing the same thing? You people aren’t very original…..everyone has the same opinion and for some reason feels a need to blog it or turn it into an article and it looks the exact same as the other 490304930439 blogs people have. Be more creative. And maybe less close-minded. Just sayin…

So Kellie if you din’t know its a blog site, why not use your freedom of speech and add your two cents to the dollar. How well do you think the Mav’s are going to do? Do you think an aging, self tanning, can’t wait till the trade deadline so I can go to a REAL contender who will not have any use for me Jason Kidd? Do you think anyone can win with Drew Gooden as there center, because the other 10 teams that gave him a shot made a mistake? Do you think Do you think Disco Stu……I mean Disco Dirk can not have the player he is guarding not equal or better his point production, even if they are…like the 3rd to 5th option on there team? Do you need to talk about Shawn “Please Steve Nash return my phone calls” Marion and that pretty much somes up the Mavs. Dallas Mavs and Have Nots or the Dallas Havericks, because they have no defense. Question for you Kellie If the Dallas mavericks played Toronto Raptors, how many guys on both teams would score more than ten points, and if Dirk had to guard Bargnani, and Bosh had to guard Gooden, who would look like a gangbuster?
