Detroit Pistons ‘09-10 Season Preview
Hooped Up | October 26, 2009Another van glorious season of NBA basketball is about to begin and Hooped Up does a quick and dirty preview of all 30 clubs.
Since making automobile references are mandatory when talking about the Pistons. This summer, Detroit got a new driver in head coach John Kuester plus brand new after market bolt on parts Charlie Villanueva, Ben Gordon and Chris Wilcox. But will they get better performance out of their upgraded whip?
Standard parts Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince are the only players from the Pistons 2004 championship year, and they’ll have to adjust to all the new faces in the Motor City. This team could be as good as that 2004 team, but that still might not be enough to bang with the big boys in the east.
Projected Starters: PG – Rodney Stuckey / SG – Richard Hamilton / SF – Tayshaun Prince / PF - Charlie Villanueva / C – Kwame Brown
Sixth Man: Ben Gordon
Key Reserves: Jason Maxiell, Will Bynum, Austin Daye, Ben Wallace, Chris Wilcox
Projected Wins: 45
Team Theme Song:Wyclef Jean – Anything Can Happen
With so many new faces in the D, anything can happen.
Best play of the ‘08-09 season:
Two Piston blogs I dig:
Detroit Bad Boys
Pistons Nation

Since car parts are the theme, Joe Dumars has been hanging out with Michael Jordan too much on the off season and has paid Porche prices for Chevy players. When Kwame Brown is your center there are still problems in the Motorcity and its not the economy. Speaking of the economy, there should be Immediate Slashed prices for seeing this years Pistons team, I mean like 4 free hotdogs and pops with every ticket. I don’t see how Rodney Stuckey can be a solid floor general and Maxiell should start because he brings energy as fast as a………………. 400 horse power engine. Everyone one else on the team that’s not a starter is suspect except for Wilcox who I personally think is still underrated for whatever reason. Pistons win games only by going back to ” Back Yard” tactics as my boy tells me on ocassion.
Hey,
Thanks for the link. I really enjoy the site.
