Charlotte Bobcats ‘09-10 Season Preview
Hooped Up | October 21, 2009Another van glorious season of NBA basketball is about to begin and Hooped Up does a quick and dirty preview of all 30 clubs.
Head coach Larry Brown is known for making a non contender a playoff bound team, and that’s exactly what he’ll try to do again in his second year in Charlotte. The Bobcats made a big move this summer trading Emeka Okafor for the more athletic Tyson Chandler, but will that be enough for the Bobcats to finally make it into the playoffs for the first time? Probably not.
The Bobcats have some good pieces on their roster in Raymond Felton, Gerald Wallace, Tyson Chandler and underrated Nazr Mohammed, but they lack a big time offensive threat to put them on that next level.
If you want to see meaningful basketball in North Carolina, I’d suggest watching the Blue Devils or Tar Heels.
Projected Starters: PG – Raymond Felton / SG – Raja Bell / SF – Gerald Wallace / PF – Boris Diaw / C – Tyson Chandler
Sixth Man: Flip Murray
Key Reserves: D.J. Augustin, Vladimir Radmanovic,Nazr Mohammed, Gerald Henderson
Projected Wins: 32
Team Theme Song: Mystikal – Y’all Ain’t Ready Yet
Maybe next year they’ll make the playoffs, but right know they ain’t ready.
