Dwyane Wade Divorce Gets Fugly

Hooped Up | January 17, 2009

Eddy Curry has some company under the legal bus, as the former wife of Dwyane Wade Siohvaughn pushed her soon to be ex-husband under it Friday. Siohvaughn claims that Dwayne Wade gave her an unspecified STD, neglects his kids, cut her off financially and left the toilet seat up too.

I made that last part up but, if you live with a woman at some point between now and Monday you’ll leave the toilet seat up and your lady will make it seem like you put a small baby in an ankle lock.

Anyway, here are the fugly divorce details below and remember to watch that toilet seat etiquette mister!

From Siohvaughn’s pleading: “Dwyane has dissipated substantial sums of marital property including . . . buying his mother a $2 million church; placing substantial sums of money in an account with another woman; providing numerous friends and family members with unfettered access to accounts with hundreds of thousands of dollars of marital funds from which they made substantial withdrawals . . .”

Meanwhile, she says, he cut her off financially.

Dwyane, named a ”Father of the Year” in 2007 by the National Father’s Day Committee, has gone ”months” without seeing his boys, Siohvaughn says. His ”failure to spend time with them . . . has resulted in the children at times being afraid of him; in fact, Zion . . . does not recognize or know Dwyane.” She wants sole custody, and support.

She also says she has suffered ”grievous physical, emotional and mental injury” from the STD, diagnosed in the fall of ‘07.

This will not end well.

This was long time coming. I remember watching Dwayne playing at Marquette, and the televised games would always show his wife and child, and immediately I thought; One this guy is going to the show, Two there is no way this guy will not have models at his feet, and temptation will set in. Dwayne is a good looking dude, his wife is average, and unfortunately we live in a world of looks, lust and love em and leave em. In the NBA who doesn’t have a super hot wife…………..???
Now please do not take this comment for superficial, but when its said and done, I personally think thats what it is.

I agree with Smoothy, I remember a couple games when D-Wade was at Marquette and I thought the same thing…she isn’t all that and I remember hearing the stories of how he was with her since they were kids…I knew once he hit the NBA, she would be gone…too bad it’s gonna get ugly for him now

Man, me and wade go back since high school. All I can say is that the access he has to women in the nba, traveling around from city to city, is a tough thing to resist. Look, we’re all human and I believe men are wire to have as much sex as possible while women on the other hand are wired to fall in love with a man afetr sex. for men, we just move on to another conquest. Look, I’m not saying its right, but that’s the way it is…Dwayne, I hope you keep your kids close to you after the divorce, because if you abandon them now you are setting yourself up for a lifetime of despair and regret. Siovaughn, you know Dwayne is a quality guy who has made some mistakes. What would you do if you switched places with him. Would you be a saint?Don’t you know that the more you muddy up Dwade’s image the more you look like a golddigger & the more that you are negatively affecting future cash flow?

I heard that his ugly ass wife gave him the STD and lied when confronted. I don’t take him to be such a bad guy. Regardless of temptation when you got a good woman you take her with you. Those groupies were just sex(not that it’s right) but if she was such a good woman why is HE divorcing HER.

I’m not taking D-Wade’s side, but what has she been doing with herself all this time.. She didn’t have any business ventures or get a career of her own? I don’t know why she is publicly complaining about being cut off financially when she wasn’t the one sweating on the courts.. Marriage doesn’t entitle you to his hard work.. She need to take a leaf out of Shawnie O’neal’s book.. Always maintain your existence and your independence..

    Stay married.

Siovaughn new it was a snake when she bought it. If you end up marrying a pro sports figure, prior to that marriage you are traveling with them, observing the behavior of teammates, and hearing all of the juicy stories.

You are an idiot if you think for one minute after you leave your boyfriend is not the ring leader on some of these trysts.

Frankly women are willing to ignore behavior for the future possibility of getting paid and living a lavish lifestyle and that is just fine. I don’t think gold digging is inherently wrong. When you wake up and realize you married a lump of coal, don’t get disgusted and get divorced.

Of course you are going to get an STD because your husband is not faithful as that is not a quality that you married for. You married for money and that is ALL he is giving you. If you wanted a husband that is faithful, you should have married one that demonstrated that characteristic

I am not absolving Wade of responsibility because his behavior abominable in every way. He is probably another statistic with no father example and got his example from miscreants in the neighborhood.

But since you know he is likely to be unfaithful AND you decide to marry that, you can’t act surprised when Wade continues to show his true colors.

Another set of boys who will have a poor example of a father. *sigh*

I am shocked at the posts here. How is it that his wife is at “some faults” when she was with him before he was a “somebody”? How is it that she stayed home took care of the kids and was at fault?

A marriage is a union of everything. It is not “his money”.
