Mobley Will Retire

Since being acquired in the trade that sent Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins to the Clippers in exchange for Mobley and Tim Thomas. Mobley has not played a single game for the Knicks due to his heart condition and according to New York Post he never will, as he is set to announce his retirement today.

Mobley’s decision comes after a plethora of test that proved unfavorable to him resuming his NBA career and given the tragedy’s of Reggie Lewis and Hank Gathers, his decision although hard is a wise one.

In 11 seasons, the 33-year old Mobley averaged 16 points and 2.7 assists per game while playing for the Rockets, Magic, Kings and Clippers over 747 games.
