Jason Williams Retires

It was white chocolate in…white chocolate out for Jason Williams as he called it quits and retired from the NBA today according to the Los Angeles Times. Williams joined the Clippers this summer as a free-agent on a one year deal and never made it to training camp with his new club.

In a 10 year career, Williams played for the Sacramento Kings, Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat winning a championship in 2006. For his career Williams averaged 11.4 points and 6.3 assists and racket up a ton of highlights especially with the Kings. That crossover on Gary Payton, still makes me hold my head!

Above is a Jason Williams highlight package with the Red Hot Chili Peppers song Californication used for the audio, which I find insanely ironic.

  1. I would like to see Williams take 1 season….just 1 season seriously…to prove his critics wrong and show his original fans some love. Remember that he was a hip hop version of Pistol Pete, Bob Cousy, and Isiah Thomas rolled into one for the first 4 years of his career and was robbed of rookie of the year by B@tch Carter or Vince.

  2. Williams potential outweighed his worth. If he could have stuck to what got him drafted, played some defense and stayed healthy. He might have been Nash with a hair more of defense.
