Garnett Joins Elite Company

Kevin Garnett, with an assist on Trenton Hassell’s first-quarter layup, became just the fifth player in NBA history to amass 18,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 4,000 assists for a career. He entered play just one assist shy of the milestone and dropped the necessary dime at the 9:43 mark of the opening period. Garnett finished Wednesday’s game, a 101-98 overtime loss to the Trail Blazers, with 31 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Garnett, now in his 11th season, joined Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Charles Barkley, Wilt Chamberlain and Karl Malone, four of the league’s all-time greatest players, on the list.
